Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Murrotal Al-quran Audio on first stage labor pain among maternity women in Prof. dr. J. A Latumeten Hospital Maluku Province, Indonesia. The study design is quasy experimental. The population is all maternity women who were in the first stage labor in Januari 2022 which consisted of 68 women. 30 women were selected purposively and agreed to join the study. The inclusion criteria are muslim women who had no hearing problems and labor complication. The intervention was an audio of Murrotal Al-quran Surah Ar-Rahman for 30 minutes. A numeric rating scale was used to measure the pain level before and after intervention. The bivariate analysis was done by Mann Whitney test. The results show that majority of women (60%) experienced a moderate level of pain before and after intervention in the control group. While, in the experiment group, majority of women (60%) experienced moderate level of pain before intervention and majority of them (66,6%) experienced mild level of pain after intervention. The bivariate analysis shows that there was a significant difference of pain score between experiment and control group after intervention (p= .005). In addition, there was a significant difference of pain score before and after intervention in the experiment group (p= .005). There was an effect of Murrotal Al-quran Audio on first stage labor pain among maternity women in Prof. dr. J. A Latumeten Hospital Maluku Province, Indonesia in 2022. The Murrotal Al-quran Audio is effective to decrease labor pain among maternity women. Nurses and midwives who work in the labor room are urged to implement the murroral Al-quran Audio to help maternity women in decreasing labor pain.

Abstract

Background: Anxiety that is not immediately treated will result in port partum depression, postpartum blues or baby blues. The safest treatment of anxiety is to use non-pharmacological methods; one of which is lavender aromatherapy. Objective: The research aims to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy on the anxiety of post-partum women at BPM Elis Nurhayati (Independent Midwife Clinic) Depok in 2018. Methods: The study used Quasy-Experiment with nonequivalent control group and pre-post test design. The research involved two groups, the experimental group and the control group. Data were collected using Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety questionnaire (HRS-A). Data analysis was carried out using independent and paired simple t-test. Results: Statistical result shows that P value was 0.000, it means that there was an influence of lavender aromatherapy in decreasing anxiety among post-partum women. Conclusions and Suggestions: Medical officers need to optimize treatment to reduce the level of post-partum anxiety by giving lavender aromatherapy for 15-30 minutes. Lavender aromatherapy is suggested to use to reduce postpartum anxiety.

Abstract

Background: During the menstruation, most of women experience menstrual disorder starting from light, medium, to sever pain. One of the ways to overcome the pain is drinking tamarind turmeric decoction. Objective: The research aims to determine the effect of tamarind turmeric decoction to decrease the pain level of dysmenorrheal pain among female students of Ciruas Junior High School 3, in Serang, Banten. Methodology: This was experimental research with quasy eksperimen (pre dan post test design. The research used paired-Test with the rate significance p= 0.000. There were 40 respondents who suffer from dysmenorrheal pain as the samples. The tamarind turmeric decoction was consumed one glass a day or 220 ml a day for to days. Result: Before drinking tamarind turmeric decoction, the pain level was 14 experienced mild pain (35%), 24 experience medium pain (60%), and experience 2 severe pain (5%). After drinking it, the pain level as 28 experience mild pain (70%), 12 experience medium pain (30%). The result shows that there was a decrease of pain level after the intervention. The result of statistical test was p=0,000 (p<0,05). It shows that there was a significant effect of consuming tamarind turmeric decoction to decrease dysmenorrheal pain level among female students of Ciruas Junior High School 3, Serang, Banten. Conclusion and Suggestion: Tamarind turmeric decoction helps reducing dysmenorrheal pain. Female student needs to consume the decoction to overcome the menstrual pain.
