<![CDATA[Abstract The increase in world oil prices that tend to be unstable will also disturb the people of Indonesia so that the social and economic conditions of the community become unstable. When world oil prices rise, the price of kerosene will also rise, resulting in people having to spend more money to buy kerosene. Indirectly, this has an impact on the decline in purchasing power and community welfare. At the present time where the limited supply of energy from nature, especially petroleum, aspects of the economic burden, and the existence of fraud in the distribution of kerosene, the government created a kerosene conversion program to Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG). This thesis discusses the legal protection of consumers related to the act of copying LPG gas and analyzes the causes of the problem. This study aims to determine the form of consumer protection from the type of research that can be grouped into direct research to the research location to obtain the information and data needed in writing this scientific work. The survey research is research that takes samples from one population using interviews as the main data inference tool while the nature of this research is descriptive, namely the author tries to provide a detailed description of how to protect and the factors of LPG gas copying in Pasar Turi, Singkawang.The result of this analysis and research is that in the case of LPG gas cylinder shoplifting has violated various provisions in Law Number 8 Year 1999. One of them is that it has violated the rights of consumers and prohibited actions for business actors. In addition, the case of LPG gas cylinders has caused many losses to the Government and consumers in particular. Keywords: Encryption, LPG Gas, Trade, Consumer Protection Abstrak Kenaikan harga minyak dunia yang cenderung tidak stabil juga akan meresahkan masyarakat Indonesia sehingga kondisi sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat menjadi tidak stabil. Saat harga minyak dunia naik, harga minyak tanah pun akan naik hal ini mengakibatkan masyarakat harus mengeluarkan uang yang lebih banyak untuk membeli minyak tanah. Secara tidak langsung, hal tersebut berdampak pada penurunan daya beli dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Pada masa sekarang dimana keterbatasan persediaan energi dari alam khususnya minyak bumi, aspek beban ekonomi, dan adanya penyelewengan dalam distribusi minyak tanah, maka pemerintah menciptakan program konversi minyak tanah ke Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG). Skripsi ini membahas tentang perlindungan hukum terhadap konsumen terkait Tindakan pengoplosan gas LPG dan menganilis penyebab permasalahan tersebut. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk perlindungan konsumen dari jenis penelitiannya yang dapat dikelompokkan ke dalam penelitian langsung ke lokasi penelitian untuk mendapatkan informasi dan data yang diperlukan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah ini. Adapun penelitian survey adalah penelitian yang mengambil sampel dari satu populasi dengan menggunakan wawancara sebagai alat penyimpulan data yang pokok sedangkan sifat penelitian ini adalah deskriptif yaitu penulis mencoba memberikan gambaran secara rinci bagaimana cara perlindungan dan faktor terjadinya pengoplosan gas LPG di Pasar Turi, Singkawang.Hasil dari analisis dan penelitian ini bahwa dalam kasus pengoplosan tabung gas LPG telah melanggar berbagai ketentuan dalam Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1999. Salah satunya adalah telah melanggar hak-hak konsumen dan perbuatan yang dilarang untuk dilakukan bagi pelaku usaha. Selain itu dalam kasus pengoplosan tabung gas LPG telah memberikan banyak kerugian bagi Pemerintah dan pihak Konsumen khususnya.
