<![CDATA[AbstractOnline slot gambling is a form of technological development that has a negative impact on society. Online slot gambling is a form of technological development that has a negative impact on society. The objectives of this study are to identify the existence of online slot gambling cases, understand the factors that cause offenders to conduct online gambling, and identify efforts to overcome online slot gambling crimes committed by the Pontianak City police. This research uses empirical methods and social control theory popularized by Travis Hirchi as the basis for explaining the causes of the perpetrators of these crimes. Based on the results of the study, it shows that the factor that causes someone to commit online slot gambling crimes is because of the weak social ties that a person has to be able to control it against these crimes. Then, based on the results of the record of online slot gambling cases in Pontianak City, the police as a law enforcement agency made efforts to overcome crime in the form of preventive and repressive efforts. These efforts are expected to reduce the number of online slot gambling cases in the Pontianak City area. Keywords: Online Slot Gambling, Crime, Social Control. Abstrak Judi slot online merupakan bentuk perkembangan teknologi yang berdampak negatif bagi masyarakat. Perjudian online tersebut dimainkan oleh berbagai kalangan masyarakat dengan latar belakang yang beragam. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi adanya kasus judi slot online, memahami faktor penyebab pelaku melakukan perjudian online, dan mengidentifikasi upaya penanggulangan kejahatan judi slot online yang dilakukan oleh pihak kepolisian Kota Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode empiris dan teori kontrol sosial yang dipopulerkan oleh Travis Hirchi sebagai dasar dalam memaparkan sebab-sebab pelaku melakukan kejahatan tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa faktor penyebab seseorang melakukan kejahatan judi slot online adalah karena lemahnya ikatan sosial yang dimiliki seseorang untuk dapat mengontrolnya terhadap kejahatan tersebut. Kemudian, atas hasil catatan adanya kasus judi slot online di Kota Pontianak, pihak kepolisian sebagai lembaga penegak hukum melakukan upaya penanggulangan kejahatan berupa upaya preventif dan represif.
