Abstract

The Waste Bank is a banking concept by saving waste whose aim is not only to increase the incentives of the user community, but the main thing is as an effort to overcome problems related to waste management. The 3R (reduce, reuse, and recycle) culture should be implemented and become a habit for all levels of society. Because if you don't get used to it immediately, it will have an impact on more and more waste going to the Final Processing Site. One of these problems occurs in Pontianak City. The waste that enters the Batu Layang Final Processing Site reaches 285 tons per day in period I of 2022. This is triggered by the still not massive 3R culture and waste segregation using the Waste Bank. This problem is not only the responsibility of state actors but also non-state actors, one of which is the younger generation. This research was conducted to analyze the participation of youth as non-state actors to overcome waste management problems through the Student Waste Bank program. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data in this study were collected from literature studies and documentation studies. The results of this study found that efforts to preserve a sustainable environment have been pursued by the younger generation through the Student Waste Bank as carried out by students and alumni of Universitas Tanjungpura which has been synergistically initiated since 2021 until now. The recommendations from this research are for the government, academia, and institutions to work together synergistically to support the cultivation of 3R and the optimal use of the Waste Bank by the community.

Abstract

British Exit (Brexit) is an issue that occurred after the British government's statement leaving the European Union. The main driving factor for British society to leave European Union membership is many waves of immigrants entering the UK. This study uses a research method with a qualitative approach in a causal way to show a reciprocal relationship. The research results show thatBrexitincluded in the regionalization group, which significantly impacted trade and political relations between the United Kingdom and other countries, including Indonesia. The negative impact of Brexit on the UK is that it will affect the economy, which threatens global growth, the decline in the value of stocks, and the money market in England is increasingly experiencing a crisis. At the same time, the impact of Brexit on Indonesia will make it difficult for Indonesia to export its production goods to Europe and a decline in the exchange rate of the Rupiah. On the other hand, Brexit will also positively impact Indonesia because the instability of global market conditions can provide opportunities for funds to enter Indonesia through tax amnesty.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has negatively impacted many aspects of human life, including tourism. Whereas previously the tourism sector was a major contributor to the economy of world countries and absorbed a large workforce, thereby reducing unemployment. Through the use of metrology to support tourism in the Caping Mendawai Tourism Village during the Covid-19 pandemic, this research aims to analyze the role of metrology in supporting Indonesian tourism from a political perspective. A descriptive approach and a qualitative methodology were used in this study. From a political perspective, the research findings revealed a metrology implementation model to support the growth of the Caping Mendawai tourism village during the Covid-19 Pandemic, specifically the cooperation between state actors within it. Tourism can then be revived through the implementation of this which is also supported by digital innovation. Along with the capacity for innovation and adaptation, people are expected to have more than one source of income besides tourism.

Abstract

Cross-border tourism is a sector that is increasingly being considered by the Indonesian and Malaysian governments, especially in the West Kalimantan-Sarawak border region through the Entikong State Border Post. Due to its strategic location, this region has great potential for developing cultural tourism, ecotourism, and trade that can benefit both countries. This study uses an ecotourism political economy approach as a critical analytical tool to analyze the potential for cross-border ecotourism development in Entikong using ecotourism political economy theory as an analytical tool. The method used to analyze this study is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected and analyzed using a narrative literature review method. This study found that the potential for cross-border ecotourism development in Entikong from an ecotourism political economy perspective is a novelty, and it can be seen from four aspects: environmental ecological potential, capital economic potential, sociocultural potential, and political potential of power relations. Therefore, the Indonesian and Malaysian governments need to develop a technical cooperation framework and cross-border tourism policies that are not only economically oriented but also consider social and ecological sustainability. Involving local governments and communities in cross-border policy negotiations is crucial.
