Abstract

In the current era of globalization, various problems must be faced by organizations, from within and outside the organization. Organizations are required to make strategies to be able to deal with existing problems and be able to serve the public or clients properly and optimally. This study aims to examine the effect of work environment, motivation, and the combined effect of work environment and motivation on employee performance at RSU Bunda Jembrana. This research uses quantitative methodology. The research methodology used in is a quantitative approach. The data sources used are primary and secondary. There is primary data obtained from observation methods, interviews, and questionnaires to respondents. Secondary data sources are data from certain records obtained through journals, modules and books in accordance with this research problem. The sample of this study amounted to 20 participants who worked at RSU Bunda Jembrana. This research data analysis through Validity Test, t test, and f test. The findings of this study show that the work environment has a positive effect on work motivation at RSU Bunda Jembrana, motivation has a positive effect on employee performance, and a positive effect of work environment and motivation on overall employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to identify how the use of leadership styles in the Field of Metrology. The Office of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade of Nunukan Regency is one of the local government agencies engaged in the field of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, Industry and Trade, including formulating policies based on their scope, implementing policies according to the scope below, and carrying out monitoring, evaluation and reporting according to their scope, carrying out service administration according to their scope and carrying out other functions given by the local government related to their duties and authorities. The Metrology Division is responsible for implementing policies that focus on the implementation of metrology in terms of calibration and recalibration services, metrology supervision and investigation activities, facilities and infrastructure and presentation of data and information in the field of metrology. This study uses a qualitative method using a descriptive approach. This approach aims to explain and describe the problems faced while offering solutions to the issues raised. Data were collected through questions and answers and observations to understand the use of leadership styles in government institutions in the region. This study took five respondents who worked in the Metrology Division. The results of the study showed that 4 (four) types of leadership models were obtained which were used in the Metrology Section, namely directive, supportive, participative, and achievement-oriented leadership, with the participative leadership model as the most dominant.

Abstract

The complexity of social reality often cannot be fully captured through quantitative approaches. This article aims to elaborate on the fundamental concepts, types of strategies, and field practices involved in qualitative research, particularly within the realm of social sciences. Through a literature review employing a descriptive-critical approach, this paper provides a comprehensive discussion of the characteristics, objectives, and key stages of qualitative research, ranging from observation and interviews to documentation. Qualitative research emphasizes deep understanding of social and cultural contexts, as well as flexibility in responding to the dynamics of the field. Accordingly, this approach is highly relevant for researchers seeking to explore social phenomena in a more holistic and reflective manner. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a preliminary reference for both academics and practitioners in designing and conducting qualitative research effectively and responsibly.

Abstract

Laboratories play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of power generation systems through the testing of chemicals, water, and oil. These activities involve significant risks related to technical processes, human factors, and environmental impacts, thereby requiring the implementation of effective risk management practices in accordance with international standards. This study aims to analyze the implementation of risk management in the Laboratory of PLN NP UPK Nagan Raya based on the ISO 31000:2018 framework.The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through observations and interviews with the chemical supervisor. The findings identified six major types of risk, including the preparation and handling of hazardous chemicals, heating and mixing processes, as well as the storage and disposal of chemical waste. The analysis revealed that most identified risks fall into the High Risk category, particularly those associated with hazardous substances and waste management activities. Risk treatment measures were carried out through the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety training programs, operational supervision, and the implementation of hazardous waste management procedures. Overall, the implementation of risk management in the Laboratory of PLN NP UPK Nagan Raya has been considered fairly effective. However, improvements are still needed in terms of operational monitoring, compliance with safety procedures, and the periodic updating of standard operating procedures.
