Abstract

Background: Balance between autonomy and paternalism in the context of decision making of individuals with schizophrenia is a complicated and ethical problem. Collaboration between healthcare workers, family members, and individuals with schizophrenia is crucial to ensure decision made is for the individual’s best interest whilst upholding their dignity and rights. Methods: This is a literature review study. References used are literature from journal articles, law texts, and other textbooks in Indonesian and English. Results and Discussion: In clinical practice, doctors and patients both have autonomy to make the best decision. In patients with schizophrenia, autonomy conflicts with paternalism due to errors in cognitive function and decision making. Some studies have shown that schizophrenia patients can increase their understanding through information repetition, or by using improved information delivery procedures. Loss of capacity of decision making in patients with schizophrenia is temporary and can recover with time. Conclusion: It is important to find balance between autonomy and paternalism in medical practice. Doctors need to give clear information to patients, discussing benefits, downfalls, and risks from a certain procedure, respecting patient preference. However, doctors also have the responsibility to use their clinical judgement to give the best medical outcomes for patients.

Abstract

High-quality administrative services are an essential component of the healthcare system, especially in healthcare facilities such as the Pelita Sehat Clinic in Bogor. Inadequate administrative services can hinder the overall effectiveness of service delivery and potentially affect patient satisfaction and operational efficiency. This study explores how the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), employee training, and employee satisfaction influence the quality of administrative services. These three elements are widely recognized in organizational studies as key drivers of performance excellence. The research employs a quantitative approach with a causal design and utilizes survey methods to gather insights from individuals directly involved in administrative functions. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire, which was designed to measure perceptions, experiences, and levels of satisfaction related to administrative tasks. The analysis was conducted using structural equation modeling, which allows for the simultaneous assessment of multiple influencing factors. The results show that the application of SOPs, the provision of employee training, and the level of employee satisfaction each have a significant impact on improving the quality of administrative services. These factors collectively contribute to better service consistency, responsiveness, and staff accountability. The study highlights that a substantial portion of service quality variation can be explained by these three variables. The novelty of this research lies in its integrated assessment of these elements within a unified model specific to clinical services. From a managerial perspective, clinic leaders are advised to regularly audit SOPs, provide continuous skill development opportunities, and establish incentive systems that enhance employee satisfaction and motivation, thereby maintaining excellent service standards.

Abstract

Post-COVID-19 neurological disorders, also known as post-covid neurology syndrome (PCNS), are an integral part of long COVID and include various health problems that can last for several weeks, several months, or even years. These neurological disorders can vary, such as postCOVID fatigue syndrome, ognitive impairment, anosmia and ageusia, headaches, or diseases such as stroke and GBS, which still require further research on the mechanisms. Until now, there has been no definitive diagnostic examination, so the history and physical examination must be precise. Further management is given according to the complaint.
