Abstract

Character education has become a major focus in helping students to develop strong moral principles and ethical values. This research examines the strategies and methods used in character education to build students' strong character. The study covers important concepts such as the concept of character education, its purpose, the teacher's role in the classroom, and how to make the relationship between teachers and students as transparent as possible. A deep review of the positive lessons in character education was also conducted to ensure that character education can be implemented successfully. The development of an integrated curriculum, schools' and teachers' roles in implementing the characteristics of education, as well as character building in a learning activity, are examined. In addition, this research focuses on some aspects that are required for implementing character education in the school, such as fostering a positive school culture. The purpose of this study is to examine how the character education can significantly improve students' moral development through the experience of a positive school environment. This research is part of a qualitative research type. The method used in this research is literature review. This paper focuses on the positive outcomes, growth and achievements of character-based education by analyzing empirical data and new research findings. The role of teachers as mentors and guides is crucial in developing students' character. Through a better understanding of effective strategies and potential barriers, this research offers valuable contributions to the development of more effective teaching methods in the future. The main focus of this research is the importance of the teacher's role in implementing character education.

Abstract

Education is a broad area for students to develop talents, especially in enriching their competencies based on their interests. Based on this situation, the role of teachers is needed to be able to create an effective teaching and learning process to help students have optimal skills. The existence of the globalization era also provides a good opportunity for teachers to create the best learning atmosphere for students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of PSE in helping students achieve well-being. This study uses a qualitative approach where the results of the effectiveness of PSE are obtained through data by conducting observation and interview activities with class VII J students at SMP Negeri 1 Bangli. The research data shows that students can learn mathematics with good focus after implementing PSE in learning activities. This can be supported through the implementation of Social Emotional Learning (PSE) which is able to stabilize students' Social and Emotional Competence (KSE). PSE is learning that focuses on optimizing the development of healthy character where students have healthy KSE. With healthy KSE which emphasizes the development of full awareness, students' learning focus on mathematics learning will increase.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of the Melasti Wewalen Barong Ceremony tradition in enhancing the character development of students within the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) at SMP Negeri 1 Bangli. The background of this research is based on the need for a contextual, local wisdom-based character education model, in line with the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile in the national education system. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The object of the study is the process of the Melasti Wewalen Barong Ceremony tradition, which is institutionally implemented at SMP Negeri 1 Bangli. Data collection techniques were carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, traditional leaders/stakeholders, and students, and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted thematically through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.The results show that the Melasti Wewalen Barong Ceremony tradition plays a significant role in developing student character, encompassing the six dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile: faith and devotion to God Almighty, global diversity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical thinking, and creativity. Character development occurs through planning, implementation, supervision, organization, and leadership, involving active student participation. This tradition serves not only as a religious ritual but also as a medium for experiential character education and the instillation of values. This research has theoretical significance in enriching studies of local culture-based character education and practical significance as a model for integrating local traditions in strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile in formal education.
