Abstract

This study aims to identify the economic benefits of paddy field ecosystems and analyze the value of the economic benefits of paddy field ecosystems in Moncobalang Village, Barombong District, Gowa Regency. The sampling method used a purposive technique, namely deliberately selecting respondents whose livelihoods were 83 farmers. Data was collected through interviews with respondents using a questionnaire. The method used to analyze the value of the economic benefits of the paddy field ecosystem uses an economic valuation method with a market price approach and the price of substitute goods. The calculated economic benefit value of the paddy field ecosystem is the direct benefit value, the indirect benefit value, the optional benefit value, and the existence benefit value. The results showed the economic benefit value of the paddy field ecosystem obtained, namely the direct benefit value consisting of the value of rice production and the production value of horticultural crops. The indirect benefit value was calculated from the value of agricultural waste products, as well as the optional benefit value calculated from the value of the paddy field ecosystem as a carbon sink and oxygen producer and the benefit value of the existence of paddy fields. The total value of the economic benefits of the paddy field ecosystem is IDR 8,813,171,208/ha/year, which consists of a direct benefit value of IDR 8,143,127,013/ha/year, the indirect benefit value is IDR 121,375,000/ha/year, the value of the optional benefits is IDR 416,369,190/ha/year, and the existence benefit value is IDR 132,300,000/ha/year.

Abstract

Tujuan yang menjadi sasaran dari program pengabdian ini kepada mitra yang meliputi; (1) Pengambangan jejaring pemasaran secara online hasil diversifikasi olahan Rumput Laut dan Ikan Bandeng dengan media sosial; (2) Peningkatan varian diversifikasi dan modernisasi pengemasan produk olahan rumput laut dan ikan bandeng; (3) Pembuatan poster produk dan video profil olahan rumput laut dan ikan bandeng; serta (4) Penjualan dan promosi hasil olahan rumput laut dan ikan bandeng dengan sistem E-Commerce. Hasil kegiatan program pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan adanya keterampilan yang signifikan terhadap mitra. Yang pertama, mitra mengalami kemajuan pengetahuan dalam menggunakan fungsi media sosial secara luas dimana sebelumnya hanya untuk komunikasi. Mereka telah mampu menggunakan IG, whatsapp, twitter, linkedin, dan youtube untuk promosi hasil olahan rumput laut. Yang kedua, melalui program ini anggota bumdes diberikan edukasi berupa pengembangan diversifikasi olahan rumput laut berupa Brownies disertai pengemasan yang modern dan menarik. Yang ketiga, proses produksi olahan rumput laut dan ikan bandeng direkam dan dibuat video yang menarik termasuk pembuatan poster dan label produksi. Yang keempat, dikembangkan aplikasi e-comdes Pitusunggu untuk lapak online bumdes. Melalui e-comdes ini, mitra dapat dapat menjual hasil produksinya secara online termasuk promosi ke masyarakat secara umum. E-ComDes Pitusunggu melalui laman https://ecomdes.id dapat diakses dimana saja dan masyarakat umum dapat melakukan registrasi untuk ikut serta menjajakan dagangannya pada sistem tersebut.

Abstract

Waste management has been in the spotlight recently due to the annual escalating volume of waste generated. The concept of a circular economy has emerged as a viable economic framework that aligns with sustainable development objectives, particularly those concerning responsible consumption and production practices to support local economies. This article seeks to assess the efficacy of waste bank management in fostering the development of an efficient municipal waste management system conducive to a circular economy with a robust waste recycling infrastructure. This study employed a descriptive qualitative interpretative approach underpinned by a phenomenological framework. Data were gathered from diverse reputable sources such as journals, books, and other relevant references, which the author subsequently analyzed. The findings indicate that waste management in Maros Regency has been operating optimally, driven by stakeholder involvement in promoting waste disposal practices within the community. Establishing the Turikale Main waste bank is a testament to the success of transitioning waste management towards a circular economy model. This initiative facilitates waste recycling and empowers the local economy, generating substantial monthly revenue independently. The significance of this research lies in its capacity to offer valuable insights and recommendations for researchers seeking to evaluate and formulate waste management strategies anchored in the concept of waste banks, which can be replicated in other regions.
