Abstract

There are several indicators of each aspect as a pedagogic competency that must be addressed by Indonesian language subject teachers at SMA PGRI Larantuka, in particular, namely indicators (1) checking regularly by asking students about material understanding, (2) ability connecting new things with students' prior knowledge, (3) supervising all students by going around responding to students' responses to the material being taught, (4) ensuring the level of students' understanding of learning material, (6) adjusting students' abilities to concentrate on receiving lessons according to the level of development, giving students lots of opportunities to ask questions, (7) using teaching aids or audiovisuals, (8) correctly identifying students' talents, interests, potential and learning difficulties, and (9) using questions to find out understanding learners.

Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview and explanation of (1) the contextual approach used by the teacher in learning to write short stories, (2) the factors that influence the teacher's success in analyzing contextual approaches, especially learning short stories and (3) the results achieved from applying this approach this contextual. The subjects of this study were Indonesian teachers and Grade VII students of One Roof Public Middle School Riangpuho and the object of the study was short story learning using a contextual approach. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews and documentation. Data obtained through these three methods were analyzed using descriptive qualitative. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in writing short stories using a contextual approach as follows: (1) contextual learning really helps students in the learning process, especially in writing short stories, especially writing experiences; (2) the teacher acts as an informator, motivator, facilitator, evaluator, inspirer, and mediator. Students have a high enthusiasm for learning because it is in accordance with their life experiences, and the school environment supports learning. Meanwhile, the use of language that is easy for students to understand, the deepening method used by the teacher, namely associating the material with students' daily experiences and the intense assistance that the teacher provides when students begin to write stories, are supporting factors in the application of a contextual approach; (3) the results obtained by students from 29 people have a value above the average of 83.66. This shows that learning using a contextual approach can increase the value of short stories to students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of the teacher in motivating the learning of fourth grade students in Indonesian subjects at Penilering Elementary School, Balaweling 1 Village, West Solor District, East Flores Regency. This research is a qualitative research. The research data was obtained directly from the research subjects as a data source, namely grade IV students at SDK Penilering Balaweling 1 Village, West Solor District, East Flores Regency totaling 13 students, and class IV teacher Mrs. Okpriasni, S, Pd, and school principal, Mrs. Maria Bunga Sawun, S.Pd. Data collection uses observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis using data analysis using data reduction techniques, data presentation, drawing conclusions or verification, and triangulation. The results showed that there was a teacher's role in increasing learning motivation in the Indonesian language subject for fourth graders of SDK Penilering, namely: (1) the teacher as a demonstrator by providing varied learning methods and using language that was easy for students to understand, (2) the teacher as class manager with paying attention to student concentration, and rolling seats, (3) the teacher as a facilitator and mediator by preparing various learning facilities and media, and (4) the teacher as an evaluator by giving gifts, grades, punishments and praise.
