This therapy was conducted for 2 days from May 10, 2024 - May 11, 2024 at PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital. Results: From the case study conducted for 2 interventions, a decrease in anxiety was obtained as evidenced by the results of the HARS score showing anxiety decreased to 18 (mild anxiety) from the previous 22 (moderate anxiety). Conclusion: Based on the results of the analysis and discussion carried out on the case study report entitled “The Effect of Hypnobreastfeeding Therapy Intervention on Anxiety Levels in Primiparous Mothers After Sectio Caesarea Surgery” it can be concluded that hypnobreastfeeding therapy is effective for reducing anxiety in postoperative sectio caesarea mothers.

Abstract

Foot massage therapy is a technique that uses patting, stroking, or pressure to distract and divert connective tissue to increase foot muscle tone, improve circulation, and induce relaxation, by releasing endorphins, it can also increase the pain threshold. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of foot massage therapy in reducing pain in post-hysterectomy patients with uterine myoma. This study uses a descriptive design with a case study approach to nursing care for 3 days with a foot massage therapy intervention for 15 minutes to case study subjects who are evaluated using the Numeric Rating Scale. This case study was conducted at Muhammadiyah PKU Gamping Hospital Yogyakarta on May 8-10, 2024. The results of the intervention evaluation from the first day to the third day showed that patients reported a decrease in pain from a scale of 9 to a scale of 4 after being given foot massage therapy. This decrease in pain level is not only the effect of foot massage therapy alone, but also from the medications taken during treatment. In addition to reducing pain, this therapy can also make patients more comfortable and relaxed.

Abstract

Background: A study showed that 23.99% of patients experienced severe preoperative anxiety and had adverse effects such as increased blood pressure, contraction of arteries, tachycardia, decreased pressure in some tissues which stimulates the sympathetic nervous system which will affect the healing process, so treatment is necessary pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. Hand massage is a non-pharmacological way to reduce anxiety. Objective: To measure the effect of hand massage relaxation therapy on anxiety levels in pre-cystectomy patients. Method: This research is a case study with nursing intervention carried out, namely hand massage relaxation therapy on the level of anxiety in Mrs. R pre-operative cystectomy patients for 3 days with a massage duration of 15 minutes and evaluation of anxiety scores using the HARS assessment. Results: The results of this study showed that there was a decrease in anxiety levels using the HARS score from scale 18 with mild anxiety on the first day and scale 7 with no anxiety on the third day. A decrease in the HARS score of 11 indicates that hand massage therapy is effective in reducing anxiety in pre-operative patients. Conclusion: These findings indicate that hand massage therapy can be an effective intervention to reduce pre-operative patient anxiety.
