Abstract

Gout Arthritis is an inflammatory joint disease caused by the accumulation of monosodium urate crystals in the body. Onion compress is a current form the treatment of gout arthritis with no side effects. The aim of this research is a to determine the effectivennes of shallot (Allium Cepa Var Aggregatum) compress on joint pain Gout Arhtritis patients at the Working Area, Public Health Center Tuminting Manado. The research conducted by using a pre-experimental (pre and post test design). The samples were 13 subjekts which taken using total sampling technique. Research instruments used observation sheet and SOP for measurement with the NRS (Numeric Rating Scale). Analyzed data by using a Wilcoxon test with the significance level α = 0,01. The results of this research obtained a value p=0.002 (α≤0.05), which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, so that can be concluded there were an effectivennes of shallot (Allium Cepa Var Aggregatum) compress on joint pain Gout Arhtritis patients at the Working Area, Public Health Center Tuminting Manado. The conclusion of this research is that there is an effectivennes of shallot (Allium Cepa Var Aggregatum) compress on joint pain Gout Arhtritis patients at the Working Area, Public Health Center Tuminting Manado. Advice to subjekts who often experience gout arthritis pain is to treat it themselves by using shallot compresses.

Abstract

Hypertension is defined as a condition of systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg, and diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. Therapyslow deep breathing is a deep breathing exercise consisting of diaphragmatic breathing andPursed Lips. A breathing method with a breathing frequency of less than or equal to 10x/minute, with a long exhalation phase is able to reduce the blood pressure of hypertension sufferers. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of providing technical therapySlow Deep Breathing on blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This research method uses designQuasy-Experiment with a planOne group Pretest- Posttest Design, The sample in the research consisted of 15 respondents, the research instruments used were SOP and digital tension. The statistical test used was the dependent t-test. The research results obtained a value of p=0.000 (α ≤ 0.05) from the T-test while the Wilcoxon test obtained p=0.001 (α ≤ 0.05) meaning that there was an effect of providing technical therapySlow Deep Breathing on blood pressure of hypertension sufferers in the working area of ​​the Mokoditek District Health Center. East Bolangitang. There is an influence of providing technical therapySlow Deep Breathing on blood pressure of hypertension sufferers in the working area of ​​the Mokoditek District Health Center. East Bolangitang. It is recommended that it can be an appropriate and easy alternative treatment for lowering blood pressure in hypertension sufferers without requiring costs, it can be done anywhere and at any time.

Abstract

Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis, generally patients with pulmonary TB will experience an increase in breathing frequency, this is due to fibrosis in the lung parenchyma. Airway narrowing can be fatal if it leads to impaired ventilation and oxygenation of the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of diaphragmatic breathing exercise using balloon blowing technique on breathing frequency in Pulmonary TB patient at UPTD Manembo-nembo Hospital Type C Bitung. This research design uses the Pre-Experimental Design method with a one group pre-test post-test design approach. The sample was taken based on the number of respondents as many as 11 people using Purposive Sampling. Data collection is carried out by observation. After tabulating, the data was analyzed with the Wilcoxon sign rank test with a meaning level (α) of 0.05. The results showed that the most sex obtained in this study was 9 male respondents (81.8%). The conclusion in this study is the effect of diaphragmatic breathing exercise using the balloon blowing technique on breathing frequency in pulmonary tuberculosis patients (p=0.002) <α = 0.05. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for health and educational institutions in an effort to provide diaphragmatic breathing exercise using the balloon blowing technique to pulmonary tuberculosis patients.

Abstract

Sedentary lifestyle characterized by lack of physical activity among students, especially in the midst of high academic demands. Nursing students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Manado are vulnerable to this lifestyle, which has the potential to affect cardiovascular health, including increased blood pressure. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sedentary life style and blood pressure in nursing students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Manado. This study used descriptive analytic method with cross-sectional approach. A total of 38 respondents participated in this study. Data was collected through a questionnaire that measured the level of sedentary lifestyle and blood pressure. Spearman Rank correlation test was used to analyze the relationship between sedentary lifestyle and blood pressure. The results of this study showed that more than half of the total respondents were in the low sedentary lifestyle category as many as 20 people with a presentation (52.6%) and most were in the normotensive category as many as 28 people with a presentation (73.7%). The results of the spearman rank correlation test with a p value of 0.000, with a p value smaller than alpha (a) = 0.05. In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between sedentary lifestyle and blood pressure in nursing students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Manado. Suggestions for respondents reduce sedentary lifestyle so that it is important to carry out intervention stoin crease physical activity among nursing students.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition where systolic blood pressure is more than 120 mmHg and diastolic pressure is more than 80 mmHg which can be measured in millimeters of mercury (mmHg). In addition to pharmacological therapy, hypertension management can also use non-pharmacological therapies, one of which is foot soak therapy in warm water. The purpose of this research is to determine effect of warm water foot soak therapy on blood pressure in patients with hypertension at Bailang Health Center Manado City. This study uses a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design without a comparison group. The population with the result that 165 people patients diagnosed with hypertension. The sampling process used a probability sampling technique with the result that 15 respondents. Data collection was observations. The data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with a significance value (?) of 0.05. From the results of the study was that there was an effect of warm water foot soak therapy on blood pressurein patients with hypertension at Bailang Health Center Manado City with a value of p = 0.008. This p value is smaller than the value of a = 0.05. The conclusion of this study was that there was an effect of warm water foot soak therapy on blood pressurein patients with hypertension. This p value is smaller than the value of a = 0.05. It is hoped that the respondents will be able to take advantage of warm water foot soak therapy as an alternative in lowering blood pressure and this can also be done regularly.

Abstract

This study focuses on the impact of Pursed Lips Breathing (PLB) exercises on the Respiratory Rate (RR) of Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TB) patients. Tuberculosis, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis bacteria, often leads to abnormal breathing patterns. The objective of this research is to determine the influence of Pursed Lips Breathing (PLB) exercises on the RR of TB patients. The research methodology employs a pre-experimental design with a One group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study includes a population of 30 respondents, and a total sample of 30 respondents selected through total sampling technique. Research instruments consist of observation sheets, SOP, and a Stopwatch. Data analysis utilizes the Dependent T-test. The study's findings indicate a significant impact of PLB exercises on the RR of TB patients, with a p-value of 0.000 (? ? 0.05). This underscores the importance of considering PLB exercises as an effective alternative therapy for managing changes in respiratory rate. Furthermore, it can be applied by families at home, ensuring that the therapy's benefits are more widely realized.

Abstract

The selection of contraceptive methods is an important part of family planning and reproductive health. However, if the selection of contraceptive methods does not align with the individual's physical condition and health, it can lead to various detrimental health impacts, including hormonal side effects, infections and irritations, ectopic pregnancies, allergic reactions, perforation and dislocation of contraceptive devices, and psychological disturbances. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge of contraceptive methods and the selection of contraceptive methods in the Working Area of Wawonasa Health Center. The research uses a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study consisted of 57 respondents using purposive sampling technique. Data collection on knowledge and the selection of contraceptive methods was conducted using a questionnaire, and analyzed using the chi-square statistical test. The research results show that the majority of respondents are aged 19-40 years, totaling 47 respondents (82.5%). The most common occupation is unemployed/housewife, totaling 41 respondents (71.9%). The most common education level is high school, totaling 29 respondents (50.9%). the most common knowledge category was the "poor" category, with 44 respondents (77.2%), and the most common contraceptive method was the hormonal contraceptive method, with 30 respondents (55.6%). The results of the chi-square test showed a p-value of 0.001, which is < α 0.05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between mothers' knowledge of contraceptive methods and the choice of contraceptive methods in the working area of Wawonasa Health Center. It is recommended that respondents be given more access to education so they can make better decisions regarding contraception

Abstract

Nurses need to improve the quality of their responses and complaint handling in serving patients, so that the quality of nursing services can be considered good and patients feel satisfied. In conditions of response time, healthcare personnel, especially nurses, are required to provide quick, accurate, and holistic handling immediately. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between nurses' response time and family complaint handling in the Emergency Room of RSUD Maria Walanda Maramis. The research uses a cross-sectional design. The sample in this study consisted of 68 respondents using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection on response time and complaint handling was conducted using observation sheets and questionnaires, and analyzed using the chi-square statistical test. The research results showed that the most common response time was the quick response time category, with 61 respondents (89.7%), and the most common complaint handling was in the good category, with 59 respondents (86.8%). The result of the chi-square test obtained a p-value of 0.004 where < α 0.05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the nurses' response time and the handling of family complaints in the Emergency Room of RSUD Maria Walanda Maramis. Patient families are expected to provide constructive feedback regarding the emergency department services so that the hospital can continue to improve the quality of its services.

Abstract

Work period is part of the workforce characteristic factors that make a person's behavior more familiar with the conditions of the workplace environment based on the length of work, if nurses are familiar with the environmental conditions of the workplace and the dangers of their work both for themselves and others, the workforce will comply with the safety of themselves and others, especially in preventing patient falls. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between nurses work period and compliance with the implementation of Standard Procedures Operational (SPO) fall risk in the inpatient room at TK II Robert Wolter Mongisidi Hospital. The method used in this study is descriptive correlational with a cross sectional approach. The sample obtained was 33 subjes using total sampling technique. Data collection uses observation sheets. Data was analysist used the Chi Square test with a level of significance (α < 0.05). The results of chi square test obtained a value of ρ = 0.203 ​​(ρ > 0.05). This means that there is no significant relationship between nurses work period and compliance with the implementation of Standard Procedures Operational (SPO) fall risk in the inpatient room at TK II Robert Wolter Mongisidi Hospital. The conclusion from this study there is no relationship between the nurses work period and compliance with the implementation of Standard Procedures Operational (SPO) fall risk in the inpatient room at TK II Robert Wolter Mongisidi Hospital. Suggestions can be used as a source of information regarding the relationship between nurses work period and compliance with the implementation of Standard Procedures Operational (SPO) fall risk.

Abstract

Autogenic Relaxation Therapy is an exercise of one of the relaxation techniques that comes from oneself in the form of short sentences to be able to make the mind peaceful. The aim was to determine the effect of autogenic relaxation therapy on acute pain levels in abdominal pain patients with post appendectomy in the flamboyant room of Rumkti Tk II Robert Wolter Mongisidi Manado. The research method is qu a si experiment with One group pre test and post test design design with a sample of 11 respondents. The sampling technique using Total Sampling is a sampling method using SOPs and observation sheets. Furthermore, the collected data was processed using McNemar's statistical test. The results showed that most respondents experienced changes after doing Autogenic Relaxation Therapy. The results of data analysis tested using McNemar obtained results p = 0.004 (a < 0.005) meaning that there was an effect of autogenic relaxation therapy on post-appendectomy patients in the flamboyant room of Rumkit TK II Robert Wolter Mongisidi Manado. Conclusion There is an effect of autogenic relaxation therapy on acute pain levels in abdominal pain patients with post appendectomy in the flamboyant room of Robert Wolter Mongisidi Kindergarten II Hospital.
