Abstract

Hydroponic cultivation is very popular throughout the world due to efficient resource management and quality food production. This research aims to compare the use of liquid organic fertilizer with liquid chemical fertilizer (AB Mix) on the growth of mustard greens in a hydroponic system. The research used a Randomized Block Design with 2 treatments and three replications. The research stages include: preparation of tools and materials, preparation of the hydropic building, making liquid organic fertilizer, sowing and planting, measuring plant height, number of leaves, leaf length and leaf width. The results of the research showed that the application of liquid organic fertilizer and liquid chemical fertilizer did not have a significant difference in the growth of mustard greens, both in the growth of plant height, leaf width, leaf length and leaf width

Abstract

Conservation areas play a crucial role in maintaining fisheries sustainability and protecting marine ecosystems. However, adherence to legal regulations often poses significant challenges that impact the effectiveness of management in these areas. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between legal compliance and fisheries sustainability in conservation areas using a systematic review approach. The methodology includes searching literature from major academic databases, selecting studies based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, and thematic synthesis of the findings. The analysis focuses on the impact of legal compliance on ecosystem health, challenges in law enforcement, and the biological impacts of fishing practices. Findings indicate that conservation areas with high legal compliance generally experience improvements in fish biomass and biodiversity. Conversely, weak law enforcement is often confronted with issues such as resource shortages and corruption, which reduce management effectiveness and lead to habitat degradation and declines in target species. The use of advanced technology and community-based approaches has proven to enhance compliance and conservation outcomes. In conclusion, to improve fisheries sustainability in conservation areas, it is necessary to increase resource allocation, strengthen anti-corruption mechanisms, and adopt technology and community-based strategies.

Abstract

The livestock sector plays a strategic role in rural economic development by providing animal-based food, employment, and increased household income. However, unsustainably managed livestock activities can negatively impact the environment and community well-being. This study aims to review the impacts of livestock activities on rural environmental quality from the perspective of spatial and urban planning and to provide recommendations for sustainable management strategies. The study was conducted through a literature review, including national and international journal articles, proceedings, research reports, and spatial planning documents. Analysis was carried out using content analysis, narrative synthesis, and literature matrices to understand the relationships between livestock activities and their impacts on water, air, soil, and socio-environmental aspects. The review shows that livestock contributes to water pollution (animal waste), air pollution (methane, ammonia, nitrous oxide emissions), soil degradation (excess manure accumulation and increased acidity), and socio-environmental disturbances (odor, noise, zoonotic disease risk). Poor waste management reduces soil quality and land productivity. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating livestock management with spatial planning, including zoning, waste management using simple technologies such as biogas and compost, and integrated farming systems. These strategies can minimize environmental impacts, maintain land productivity, and improve community welfare. This approach highlights the need for a balance between economic, ecological, and social aspects to support sustainable rural development.
