<![CDATA[Tujuan penelitian menganalisis pelaksanaan tugas dan fungsi Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik masyarakat di Kota Makassar. (2) Mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab kurangnya partisipasi politik masyarakat terhadap pemilihan umum di kota makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan tipe penelitian hukum empiris, sumber penelitian dengan adanya data-data lapangan sebagai sumber data utama, seperti hasil wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjjukan bahwa: (1) Tugas dan Fungsi KPU dalam meningkatkan partisipasi politik masyarakat pada pemilu di kota makassar dengan memberikan memberikan pelayanan serta mengedukasi dan mengsosialisasikan pentingnya pemilu kepada masyarakat Kota Makassar agar masyarakat sadar serta faham bahwasanya hak pilih dari masing-masing mereka itu sangat penting. Namun, hal tersebut masih belum berjalan secara efektif. (2) Faktor yang mempengaruhi partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemilu yaitu menganggap satu suara tidak berpengaruh apa-apa, tidak percayanya masyarakat terhadap kebijakan yang dihasilkan pemerintah, kampanye para calon kandidat yang dianggap hanya pencitraan.
