Abstract

Infectious disease is the type of disease that most people suffer from in developing countries, including Indonesia. One of the causes of infectious diseases is Candida albicans. Lingzhi mushroom (Ganoderma Lucidum) is one of the plants in Indonesia which has potential as an antimicrobial. This study aims to determine the antimicrobial ability of lingzhi mushrooms (Ganoderma lucidum) ethanol extract against Candida albicans. The research method uses soxhlet methods. The results showed bacterial inhibition zones at concentrations of 20 μg/ml (8.3 mm) in the inactive category, 40 μg/ml (9.3 mm) with the inactive category, 60 μg/ml (10.5 mm) with the category less active, 80 μg / ml (11.4 mm) with the active category, and 100 μg/ml (12.6 mm) in the very active category. It can be concluded that the extract of Ganoderma Lucidum has an effect to Candida albicans bacteria. Based on observational data analyzed with the Oneway Anova test, it obtained a significant value of .000. This showed that there were differences in inhibition zones formed from various concentrations. Based on research antimicrobial activity of lingzhi mushroom ethanol extract (Ganoderma lucidum) used soxhlet method had an effect to inhibitory zone of Candida albicans.

Abstract

Infectious diseases health problem in developing countries such as in Indonesia one of them is Urinary Tract Infection (ISK). The cause of ISK is Proteus sp. This bacteria is one of the gram-negative causes of urinary tract infection (ISK). Urinary tract infections caused by Proteus sp are persistent, difficult to treat and can be died. Currently one of the natural ingredients known of the antimicrobial drug is the lingzhi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum). The purpose of this study was to find out whether the concentration of lingzhi mushroom extract (Ganoderma lucidum)effect inhibition zone on bacteria Proteus sp. This anti-bacterial inhibitory test using disc diffusion method. The study was conducted with 6 replication and five concentrations is 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. The lingzhi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) extract using soxhlet method with distilled water solvent.Inhibition zone values at concentrations of 100 μg / ml were averaged 10.33 mm, 80 μg / ml of 9.8 mm, 60 μg / ml of 9.4 mm, 40 μg / ml of 8.2 mm, and 20 μg / ml of 8.03 mm. The average result is done by Anova One Way test obtained by result of value of sig, which means significant <0,05 then H0 there is no inhibition zone influence (rejected) and H1 there is inhibit zone effect (accepted). The LSD test results showed that the concentration of 40 μg/ml was significantly different with 60, 80, 100 μg/ml but not significantly different with the concentration of 20 μg/ml. The conclusion of this research is lingzhi mushrooom (Ganoderma lucidum)water ekstract have positive effect on proteus sp inhibition zone.

Abstract

The study of inhibition testing antibacterial extract Fresh Red Ginger Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum Against Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coliguna to determine the source of antibacterial natural products, especially red ginger has been conducted. Anti-bacterial inhibition test using disc diffusion method with fresh red ginger rhizome material. The study was conducted using concentrations: 0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. Concentration of 0% was used as a negative control. The data obtained will be tested statistically using ANOVA with sig. 0.05. The results showed that the extraction of fresh red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum) at a concentration of 100% has the highest inhibitory region to S. aureus (15.83 mm) and E. coli (14:22 mm). It can be concluded that the extract of fresh red ginger Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum at a concentration of 100% has a moderate level of inhibition to S. aureus and weak level of inhibition to E. coli.
