Abstract

This research aims to apply the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method in the selection of Foundation scholarship recipients at STMIK Mulia Darma. Scholarships are a form of financial support given to outstanding or needy students, with the aim of supporting the smooth running of their studies. The SAW method is one of the multi-criteria methods that can be used to choose the best alternative from several existing alternatives. In this study, the alternative in question is students who register to get a Foundation scholarship at STMIK Mulia Darma. The criteria used include Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA), parents' income, academic achievement, and participation in extracurricular activities. Each criterion is weighted based on its level of importance. The data used in this study is data on students who apply for Foundation scholarships at STMIK Mulia Darma in the 2023/2024 academic year. The data was processed using the SAW method to determine students who are eligible for scholarships. The results of the study show that the SAW method can be used effectively to select students who receive Foundation scholarships at STMIK Mulia Darma. Students who are selected as scholarship recipients are the students who have the highest weight score based on the results of the SAW method calculation.

Abstract

Course scheduling is a complex and critical task for universities, as it must consider various constraints such as lecturer availability, classroom capacity, and time slot limitations. Improper scheduling can lead to inefficiencies, conflicts, and dissatisfaction among lecturers and students. This study aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) for optimal course scheduling at Universitas Budidarma using the Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP) method. CSP provides a structured approach to solve scheduling problems by defining variables, domains, and constraints, and finding solutions that satisfy all requirements. The system was designed to input course data, lecturer availability, and available classrooms, then generate a conflict-free schedule automatically. Testing results show that the CSP-based system successfully generated valid schedules that met all given constraints, reduced scheduling conflicts, and improved resource utilization. This research demonstrates that CSP is an effective method for handling complex academic scheduling tasks, supporting more efficient academic planning processes in higher education institutions.

Abstract

Employee performance appraisal is an important aspect of human resource management, but it often faces challenges related to subjectivity and inaccuracies. PT. Sarma Amarise Anugerah Sejahtera faces this problem in its manual and less objective performance assessment system. This study aims to design and implement a decision support system based on the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method to improve objectivity, efficiency, and accuracy in employee performance assessment. The SAW method is used to evaluate performance based on various criteria, by giving weight to each relevant criterion. The results of this system are expected to provide more transparent and accountable decisions, as well as assist management in planning the right development and policies for employees. The results of the study show that the application of the SAW method in employee performance assessment at PT. Sarma Amarise Anugerah Sejahtera can improve the quality of decision-making and minimize the bias that usually appears in manual assessment systems.
