Abstract

The implementation of regional development programs from the government sometimes does not match the community hopes or needs. Furthermore, the environmental and social issues of urban village communities are often difficult also to the city government level. The participatory mapping was carried out by the Architecture Department of Institut Teknologi Sumatera in collaboration with Arkom Indonesia is a series of community service activities in Cungkeng Village, Bandar Lampung City. Participatory mapping was conducted to identify the perceived issues and help community convey them directly to the Bandar Lampung Government to get the direct solution resulting from discussions between various parties. Participatory mapping was carried out by asking residents to draw in 2D their houses and residential environments and map the issues perceived by residents on the drawn map. Then, residents presented the schematic map to regional officials to discuss the solution of the issues. In mapping and presenting the issues, residents were accompanied by field facilitators. The main issues identified are bad waste disposal and management, problems with high tides and tidal floods, as well as ineduquate infrastructure. With the existence of mapping activities, it is hoped that the development program could be right on target in accordance with the needs and expectations of the community. The participatory mapping can be a reference tool for planning improvement activities as well as further development in the Cungkeng Village and its surroundings.

Abstract

The growing popularity of cafes in Bandar Lampung is driven by the interest of young people who enjoy spending time in these venues. The lifestyle in Bandar Lampung has turned cafes into more than just dining spaces; they have become social and co-working environments. Zozo Garden Cafe distinguishes itself through its eclectic interior design, setting it apart from other cafes. This study explores the decor of the cafe, focusing on space-forming, space-supporting, and space-filling elements. The research uses a qualitative descriptive method with an exploratory approach, observing and analyzing the cafe's interior through visual observation. The findings show that Zozo Garden Cafe successfully implements an interior style that balances sociability, ambiance, and intimacy. The dynamic combination of space-forming, supporting, and filling components creates an appealing design for those who appreciate aesthetic interiors. The cafe’s uniqueness is highlighted by varied wall ornaments, textured and patterned floors, vintage windows, mixed-material ceilings, and distinct color schemes in every corner.
