<![CDATA[Fenomena bunuh diri mahasiswa mewarnai banyak pemberitaan media dan unggahan sosial media di Indonesia dalam rentang periode tahun 2023-2024. Tingginya aksesibilitas internet membuat pemberitaan tentang hal tersebut berpotensi untuk dibaca secara daring melalui media siber. Penelitian ini memotret pemberitaan bunuh diri mahasiswa yang dilakukan detik.com pada tahun 2023 - 2024. Secara umum pemberitaan detik.com masih belum optimal. Belum semua pemberitaan detik.com memiliki unsur kelengkapan berita. Sebagian berita masih bersifat multitafsir. Pemberitaan media ini juga berpotensi untuk memicu terjadinya aksi serupa. Sebagai pelopor media siber detik.com tidak melakukan upaya untuk memotivasi adanya tindakan preventif aksi serupa. Meskipun demikian, media ini memberi ruang privasi pada korban sekaligus menjadi kontrol sosial bagi lembaga pendidikan tinggi untuk lebih peduli pada isu ini. Metode penelitian analisis isi kuantitatif digunakan sebagai pisau analisis dalam penelitian ini. During the years 2023-2024, news stories from the media and social media posted in Indonesia contained suicidal action by the university students. The news stories are potentially read by the public through the online media as the impact of the high number of internet accessibility in Indonesia. This research portrayed the university students suicidal action phenomenon that was published on detik.com during that time. In general, the way detik.com covered this issue through their news was less optimal. Detik.com news stories are mostly lacking in news element completeness. Some of the news stories are multi-interpretable. Their news stories are potentially motivating the same suicidal actions. As the pioneers of Indonesian online media, they should prevent the same action in the near future through their news. On the contrary, detik.com is still concerned about the privacy issue for the suicide perpetrators. They also play their role as the social control for motivating the higher education to be more aware of this issue. Quantitative content analysis is used for answering the research questions and analyzing the research result.]]>
