Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa melalui praktikum berbasis masalah nyata materi pengukuran tahun pelajaran 2023-2024. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian dilakukan di kelas VII E MTs Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Data penelitian diperoleh dari pengamatan praktikum siswa, aktivitas belajar siswa, dan nilai tes hasil belajar. Pengamatan dilakukan dalam tiga tahap yaitu tahap pra tindakan, siklus 1, dan  siklus 2. Analisis data dilakukan dengan deskripksi kualitatif yang menghasilkan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKPD berbasis masalah nyata dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VII B MTs Mu’allimin Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta pada materi pengukuran. Rata-rata aktivitas siswa meningkat dari 5,7 pada pra tindakan menjadi 8,9 pada siklus 1, dan menjadi 10,16 pada siklus 2. Sedangkan nilai hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari 68,16 pada pra tindakan naik menjadi 87, 06 pada tindakan 1 dan naik menjadi 88,28 pada tindakan 2. LKPD berbasis masalah nyata direkomendasikan untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran agar meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Background: Japanese and Javanese are two languages rich in philosophy. One of the most prominent Japanese philosophies is "Ikigai," while in Javanese it is "Urip iku urup." These philosophies offer distinct yet potentially complementary perspectives on the concept of meaningful living. Objectives: This study aims to examine and compare the two philosophies based on their conceptual foundations and applications in everyday life. Method: This study employs a descriptive-qualitative approach. Data were collected through library research using texts related to the philosophies of "Ikigai" and "Urip iku urup," supplemented by observation based on the author's personal experience. Result: Both philosophies share a common emphasis on the importance of living a meaningful life, asserting that life extends beyond mere physical existence and holds values worth pursuing. The "Ikigai" philosophy centers on balancing passion, expertise, and personal financial fulfillment, as reflected in Japanese society's disciplined culture and in business models integrating passion, mission, vocation, and professionalism. The "Urip iku urup" philosophy, by contrast, prioritizes external goals oriented toward benefiting others, as exemplified by figures such as H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto and Peter Carey, and in various communal practices in Javanese society. Conclusion: Despite originating from geographically distant cultures, both philosophies are universal in nature and applicable across cultural boundaries.
