Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the local identity of Aik Bukaq Village through the planning and construction of Catfish and Tilapia Monuments. The village is recognized as a center for freshwater fish farming, which serves not only as the primary economic resource but also embodies cultural values passed down through generations. The monument is envisioned as a visual symbol of this local wisdom, while also functioning as a tourist attraction supporting the sustainable development of the village. The monument's design was developed through a participatory approach, involving the local community in every stage of planning, from initial concept to final design. The statues of catfish and tilapia, as the monument’s central elements, represent two species essential to the village’s economy and reflect local values such as hard work, sustainability, and harmony with nature. In addition to serving as a village landmark, the monument includes educational facilities with information panels explaining the importance of fish farming and environmental preservation. This program aims to foster a sense of pride and ownership within the community toward the monument, while also strengthening the local identity, which is increasingly recognized at both regional and national levels. Furthermore, the program is expected to boost tourism, positively impacting the village’s economy and raising awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage. As a result, the Catfish and Tilapia Monuments will become a tangible representation of efforts to strengthen the local identity of Aik Bukaq Village, reflecting a collective commitment to sustainable cultural and environmental preservation.

Abstract

People with disabilities are a socially, economically and politically vulnerable group. Even though their existence has been recognized in global norms such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), their role in development is still often perpetuated as objects rather than subjects of development. This study aims to understand how far the SDGs manifested in the "Inclusion Village" program and other government programs are able to represent the actual needs of persons with disabilities in Sidoharjo Village, Polanharjo, Klaten. Data obtained through qualitative interviews with five persons with disabilities in Sidoharjo Village show that there is indeed a gap between the local context and the global standards of the SDGs. This means that various programs based on inclusivity are still not understood and their impact is not felt by persons with disabilities. The findings in this research indicate that people with disabilities in Sidoharjo Village have not been well-placed as subjects of development. Eventually, there are unfulfilled rights in regard to health, education, welfare and equality services.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between probiotic consumption and an individual's sleep quality. A systematic search for relevant articles was conducted in Scopus, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and ScienceDirect databases for publication between 2013 and 2023. The article selection process is presented using a PRISMA diagram. Data analysis was performed using Review Manager Version 5.4 and publication bias was assessed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software (CMA) V4. This systematic review and meta-analysis included 10 studies examining the effect of probiotic consumption on sleep quality measured by Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and 3 studies assessing the effect measured by Electroencephalogram (EEG). Based on the PSQI results, the findings indicate that probiotics considerably enhance sleep quality, with the pooled odds ratio of -0.32 (95% CI:-0.64–0.01; p=0.04). However, probiotic consumption shows no significant effect on sleep quality measured by EEG. Further studiesexploring the relationship between probiotic consumption and sleep quality using objective methods and larger samples are necessary to confirm the impact of probiotic supplementation on sleep quality. While these findings suggest that probiotic supplementation could be a potential strategy for improving sleep quality, additional research is required to strengthen these conclusions and investigate the underlying mechanisms.
