Abstract

ABSTRACT: This research aims to explore the dynamics of gender and identity in the animated series "Shiva," focusing on how statements and interactions of the main characters reflect and shape children's gender perceptions. The research method involves contextual analysis of several representative episodes of "Shiva" and a literature review to provide theoretical foundations. The results indicate that the main characters, especially Shiva, assert a strong and independent identity through the statement "Don't call me a little kid, uncle," challenging traditional gender stereotypes. These findings provide insights into how media representations, such as animation, can influence children's gender perceptions. Keywords: gender dynamics, identity, animated series, Shiva, gender perception.
