Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a significant problem in global health. In general, it is known to many people around the world because basically diabetes mellitus can be suffered by all groups, both young and old. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the duration of diagnosis of type 2 DM and the incidence of death in type 2 DM sufferers at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, Batam City. The research was carried out by taking medical record data for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, Batam City. The data is then processed by computerization. Analysis of the results uses the Chi Square test if the significance value of p is <0.5% or 0.05, then Ho is rejected, meaning there is a relationship between the independent and dependent variables. Vice versa, if p > 0.05 Ho fails to be rejected, it means there is no relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between the duration of diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus and the incidence of death in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the length of time diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus can influence the incidence of death in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Background: Burns are damage to the skin or other tissues caused by high temperatures, radiation, electricity, or contact with chemicals. Healing by maintaining resistance that has potential to killbacteria at affordable prices is to use the active substances contained in honey and Moringa leaf. Methods: Research with True Experimental design by giving honey and ethanol extract of moringaleaves in gel preparation to affect the acceleration of second degree burn wound healing in ratsmacroscopically. With the design of "Post Test Only Control Group Design". The data were analyzedusing the Mann Whitney nonparametric test.Result: Analysis of data on the average diameter of wound healing and percentage of wound reductionon day 7 between honey and ethanol extract of moringa leaves with a significance value of 0.000, onday 14 a significance value of 0.000 was obtained which means sig.<0.005 It can be concluded thereis a significant difference between the treatment groups. Conclusion: Ethanol extract of moringa leaves has a smaller wound diameter value, which is anaverage of 12.09 mm compared to honey which has a wound diameter of 14.54 mm. Based on thepercent reduction value, moringa leaf ethanol extract has a percent wound reduction of 39.90%compared to honey which has a percent wound reduction value of 27.26%.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Low Back Pain is a common health problem worldwide that often results in activity limitations and absenteeism from work. Methods: The method of this research is an observational analytical sample ninth in this study using nonprobability sampling method with accidental sampler technique with a sample number of 97 respondents. Data is the primary data of the questionnaire. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis. with accidental sampling technique with a sample size of 97 respondents. Results: The results of the study showed several factors that cause Low Back Pain in laundry workers: age, body position, and repetition that causes low back pains. The p-value is obtained in a sequence of p = 0.795, p = 0.010, p = 0,001. Significant factors affecting the occurrence of Low Back Pain are body position and repetition, while age is not significant. Conclusion: Based on the Chi-Square correlation results, there is a significant relationship between body position and repetition with Low Back Pain incidents, whereas age has no significant relationship to low back pains in laundry workers. Abstract

Abstract Background: Chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) is a leading cause of global morbidity and mortality, closely associated with central obesity. The waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) is a sensitive anthropometric indicator for detecting visceral fat distribution and cardiometabolic risk. Meanwhile, functional capacity can be assessed through the 6-minute walk test (6MWT), reflecting patients' ability to perform daily activities. However, few studies have examined the relationship between WHtR and 6MWT, particularly in CCS Objective: To determine the correlation between WHtR and 6MWT results in CCS patients at Hj. Bunda Halimah Hospital, Batam City. Methods: This pilot study with cross-sectional design involved 20 selected patients with consecutive sampling. All patients were given optimal CCS treatment and were chronic patients of cardiac outpatient clinic. Data were collected through anthropometric measurements (waist circumference and height) and 6MWT following standard protocol. Pearson’s correlation test was used to analyze the relationship between WHtR and 6MWT results. Results: Most respondents had central obesity with WHtR ≥ 0.5 (55%). The mean 6MWT distance was 448.10 m in the control group and 429.40 m in the intervention group (p<0.001). Pearson’s test revealed a significant negative correlation between WHtR and 6MWT (r = -0.719; p < 0.001). There was a significant negative relationship between WHtR and 6MWT results in CCS patient. Discussion and Conclusion: This study shows that a higher WHtR results in a shorter 6MWT distance, or lower functional capacity, in patients with CCS who have received optimal treatment. This suggests that a high WHtR indicates the presence of residual risk factors such as inflammation and ongoing oxidative stress. WHtR is not only a simple indicator for predicting functional capacity and cardiometabolic risk in this population, but also serves as a target for cardiac rehabilitation to improve the functional capacity. Keywords: Coronary artery disease; WHtR; 6-Minute Walk Test; functional capacity; central obesity.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) not only disrupts daily activities but can also negatively impact an individual's quality of life and productivity. Physiotherapy treatment has proven to be one of the effective non-pharmacological methods in managing LBP. Physiotherapy plays a role in increasing lumbar flexibility and reducing lower back pain. Various physiotherapy techniques can be applied, including TENS and Infrared. Methods: This study uses a pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test approach. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling with 31 physiotherapy patients experiencing Low Back Pain at RSUD Kota Tanjungpinang. Data were collected using Schober test observation sheets and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Data analysis was performed with paired t-test statistics. Results: The study results showed that after physiotherapy was performed, limited lumbar flexibility drastically decreased to 6.5%, while patients with normal flexibility increased to 93.5%. There was a significant improvement in pain levels, with 64.5% of patients experiencing mild pain, 35.5% experiencing moderate pain, and no patients experiencing severe or very severe pain. The paired sample t-test result obtained a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: Physiotherapy (TENS and Infrared) is effective in managing Low Back Pain cases viewed from lumbar flexibility at RSUD Kota Tanjungpinang.
