Abstract

ABSTRACT Carrying out maternal care during the postpartum period in the Karo tribe is still considered relevant to today's care. Therefore, postpartum care in Karo culture still needs to be reintroduced. Karo culture is still very strong in the implementation of postpartum care for mothers who have just given birth. Traditional medicines are still owned and trusted by the Karo people to this day. One of them is postpartum care for mothers after giving birth, including Kuning Las, Tawar, Minyak Alun Or Minyak Urut, Sembur, and oukup or Mandi Uap, and Bubur Sira Lada. Knowing the Care of Postpartum Mothers and Newborn Babies in the Karo Tribe Community in Pancur Batu sub-district. This research uses quantitative research with chi-square data processing techniques; The population in this study were postpartum mothers and newborn babies in Pancur Batu sub-district. Care for postpartum mothers and newborns in the Karo tribe includes several treatments, namely, oukup, kuning las, tawar (jamu karo), sembur and bubur sira lada. Keyword: Postpartum Mother, Newborns, Karonese Culture ABSTRAK Melakukan perawatan ibu di masa nifas pada suku Karo sampai saat ini dianggap masih relevan dengan perawatan masa kini. Oleh karena itu, perawatan masa nifas pada budaya karo tetap perlu diperkenalkan kembali. Masih sangat kuat budaya karo dalam pelaksanaan asuhan masa nifas pada ibu yang baru melahirkan. Obat-obatan tradisional masih tetap dimiliki dan diyakini oleh masyarakat Karo sampai saat ini. Salah satunya adalah perawatan masa nifas pada ibu pasca melahirkan, antara lain kuning las,tawar,minyak alun atau minyak urut,sembur,dan oukup atau mandi uap,sembur,dan bubur Sira lada. Mengetahui Perawatan Ibu Nifas dan Bayi Baru Lahir Pada Masyarakat Suku Karo Di Kecamatan Pancur Batu. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengolahan data chi-square; Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah ibu nifas dan bayi baru lahir suku karo yang berjumlah 150, dengan sample yang diambil sebanyak 50 sample. Perawatan ibu nifas dan bayi baru lahir masyarakat suku karo mencakup beberapa perawatan yaitu, oukup, kuning las, tawar (jamu karo), sembur dan bubur sira lada. Kata Kunci: Perawatan Ibu Nifas, Bayi Baru Lahir, Budaya Suku Karo

Abstract

Patients with diabetes mellitus require effective control of blood sugar levels to preventcomplications. Effective control of diabetes mellitus depends on self-care, namely diet,physical exercise, glucose level checks, medication, and foot care. The objective of thisstudy is to determine the description of diabetes mellitus patient self-care. This study is adescriptive study. The research was conducted at the Interna Medicine Polyclinic, MurniTeguh Memorial Hospital. The total population was 140 people and the sample wasobtained as many as 58 people. The data used are primary data and secondary data. Theanalysis was carried out by univariate which is presented in the frequency distribution table.The results of this study indicate that the self-care of diabetes mellitus patients at the InternaMedicine Polyclinic, Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital which includes dietary regulation,physical exercise (exercise), blood sugar level examination, drug use (medication), and footcare, are mostly already used. good (53.4%), but there were still patients with poor self-care(46.6%). It is concluded that the self-care of diabetes mellitus patients is good, but there arestill many who treat themselves poorly. It is recommended that nurses from the InternaMedicine Polyclinic, Murni Teguh Memorial Hospital provide counseling or health educationto visiting patients about self-care including dietary management, physical exercise(exercise), checking blood sugar levels, drug use (medication), and foot care
