Abstract

Mother's milk companion food (MP-ASI) is a complementary food to meet the nutritional needs of infants under five after six months of age. In practice there are still many Indonesian people giving MP-ASI at less than six months. This is what causes high incidence of infections such as diarrhea, airway infections, allergies to growth disorders. The high incidence of infection has an impact on the decline of the health of infants toddlers so that nutritional needs are not optimal that lead to stunting cases. Therefore, a promotive and preventive effort is needed by providing education the importance of giving MPASI, especially in the Golden Age period aged 6-24 months so that stunting problems are not a problem that always haunts children's health in Indonesia. It is hoped that this effort can significantly reduce stunting cases. The results of the preliminary study were obtained by most mothers who have toddlers in Jumapolo Karanganyar Regency lack understanding of the administration and processing of MPASI. Methods: The method carried out in this community service activity is in the form of giving education around MPASI followed by giving a questionnaire to find out the level of mother's knowledge about the importance of giving MP-ASI in meeting the nutritional needs of her child. Results: Participants in this community service as many as 30 mothers who have children aged 6 months-24 months and come to the posyandu Jumapolo Karanganyar Regency with only 79 % of mothers understand the importance of MP-ASI but after being given education the mother's understanding increased 94 %. Conclusion: Community service in the form of providing education to mothers under five is carried out well and active participants discuss in these activities. In the future it is expected that community service can be carried out by practicing MPASI making.

Abstract

Background: Diaper rash cases in Indonesia have a relatively high prevalence in Central Java Province. Using disposable diapers on infants can have a negative impact on the skin, using them for too long can cause the skin to become damp so that the infants skin experiences irritation or rashes. Diaper rash is the most common skin problem caused by inflammation in areas covered by diapers such as genitals, buttocks, and inner groin. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of administration of virgin coconut oil (VCO) on diaper rash in infants. Method: This research used pre-experimental techniques with a group pre-test and post-test design. The sample for this research was 20 participants. Data analysis used Wilcoxon signed rank test to test the effect of VCO on diaper rash. Results: VCO administration had an effect on reducing rash scores with a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05, so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Summary: This study concludes that administration of VCO is very effective in the treatment of diaper rash in infants.

Abstract

Background: Early cessation of breastfeeding is a significant health problem, considering that exclusive breastfeeding has been proven to provide important benefits for the health of mother and child. Risk factors such as maternal factors including age, education level, employment status, family income, parity, and mode of delivery contribute to the decision to stop breastfeeding early. Purpose: This study aimed to identify dominant factors that contribute to early cessation of breastfeeding Method: This study applied a cross-sectional design. 30 breastfeeding mothers who exclusively breastfeed after giving birth up to six months were selected as respondents through purposive sampling technique. Respondents were then asked to fill out the questionnaire of the Breastfeeding Attrition Prediction tool (BPAT) to identify early breastfeeding cessation. Data analysis was performed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate methods using chi-square and logistic regression. Result: The study clearly shows that parity, employment status, and mode of delivery are significantly linked to each other with early breastfeeding cessation (p < 0.05). Employment status is the most influential factor in early breastfeeding cessation, p-value 0.000 (OR=14.34; CI 95% 6.7–32.4). Conclusion: Employment status was the dominant predictive factor that has the potential for early breastfeeding cessation. Working mothers are more likely to opt for early weaning due to time constraints, workplace challenges, and fatigue.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition in which there is a decrease in the number of erythrocytes in the blood indicated by a decrease in hemoglobin levels. In 2018 there was an increase of 13.6% from 2017. Which means that 3-4 out of 10 adolescents who experience anemia in adolescent girls, anemia can cause short-term effects such as decreased immunity, impaired concentration, decreased school performance, and menstrual problems. Dates can help prevent anemia because they are rich in iron and calcium, which are important for the formation of red blood cells and bone marrow. This type of research using Pre-experimental design with one group Pretest-Posttest. The population and sample in this study were adolescents with moderate anemia as many as 20 respondents. Sampling technique is Accidental Sampling and data collection is done by observation. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Test. Before given the dates of the lowest hemoglobin levels 8 gr/dl and the highest 10.9 gr/dl, after given the dates of the lowest hemoglobin levels 11 gr/dl and the highest 13.7 gr / dl. Wilcoxon test showed a P-Value of 0.000 that giving dates had a significant effect on increasing hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls in MTs Negeri 5 Sragen in 2024. There Is The Effect Of Giving Dates To Increase Hemoglobin Levels In Adolescent Girls In Mts Negeri 5 Sragen. Giving dates can be used as an additional alternative to iron to prevent anemia in adolescent girls in MTs Negeri 5 Sragen.
