Abstract

Labor is the process by which the fetus and amniotic fluid are pushed out through the birth canal. During the birth process the mother will experience pain. Pain that is uncontrolled or excerssive and does not get proper treatment can cause problems with difficulty in childbirth. A non-pharmocological method that is quite safe was to determine the effect of giving warm compresses to labor pain in the active phase of the first stage of labor at Fatimah Banyuwangi Hospital in 2022. The research method used a pre-exsperimental one group pretest posttest on 30 respondents who met the inclusion criteria, namely pregnant women in the first active phase, singleton pregnancies, head presentations, term pregnancies, normal delivery plants, fetal interpretation between 2500-4000 grams, accompanied by their husbands or family. Data collection was carried out using the VAS observation sheet and warm compress SOP. Then the data is processed through the process of editing, coding, scring, tabulating and statistical analysis of the Wilcoxon test. The result showed that the level of labor pain before the intervention was mostly in the severe pain category by 53% and after the warm compress intervention there was a decrease in the pain level, namely in the moderate pain category by 70%. Wilcoxon test reslts Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) 0,00 < 0,05 means that there is a significant effect of giving warm compresses to labor pain in the active phase I parturition at RSI Fatimah Banyuwangi in 2022. Proper application of warm compresses according to the procedure gives a feeling of warmth and causes vasoconstriction so that labor pain in the first stage can be reduced. This method is safe and can be an alternative choice for midwives in the management of pain care during labor.

Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is a condition of pregnant women with hemoglobin (Hb) levels <11 mg/dL in the first and third trimesters while in the second trimester Hb levels <10.5 mg/dL and can be a major cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. One of the causes of anemia in pregnancy is chronic energy deficiency (CED). This study aims to analyze the relationship between chronic energy deficiency and anemia in the first trimester of pregnancy. This research method is observational analytic with a cross-sectional design. The number of samples was 91 respondents with a total sampling technique. The independent variable is chronic energy deficiency. The dependent variable is anemia in pregnant women. The instrument used was a maternal cohort register. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank statistical test. The results of the study were obtained from 91 respondents who experienced chronic energy deficiency as many as 12 people. Of these, 7 mothers (58.3%) experienced anemia and 5 mothers (41.7%) did not experience anemia. Based on the results of the Spearman Rank statistical test, a significance value of 0.000 was obtained, a correlation coefficient of 0.590 with a positive direction, which means that there is a significant relationship between chronic energy deficiency and the occurrence of anemia in the first trimester of pregnancy with a fairly close relationship and a positive relationship direction. It is hoped that women of childbearing age will pay more attention to nutritional intake in order to prevent the occurrence of chronic energy deficiency as a cause of anemia during pregnancy.

Abstract

Pregnant women are one of the populations at risk of contracting Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Syphilis, and Hepatitis B. The risk of mother-to-child transmission for HIV/AIDS is 20%-45%, for Syphilis is 69-80%, and for Hepatitis B it is more than 90%. Transmission of HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B from mother to child results in morbidity, disability and death. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between pregnant women's knowledge about Triple Elimination and compliance with examinations at the Tampo Health Center, Banyuwangi Regency in 2023. The research design is a correlation analytical cross sectional study approach, the population is pregnant women in the 2023 Tampo Health Center working area, totaling 390 pregnant women using an accidental sampling technique. . The number of samples taken was 66 pregnant women. Statistical tests use Chi-Square and Mann-Whitney U with a significance level of 0.05 with SPSS. The research results showed that most of the pregnant women's knowledge about Triple Elimination was in the sufficient category, namely 36 respondents (54.5%), and compliance with the Triple Elimination examination at the Tampo Community Health Center was mostly in the Obedient category, namely 48 respondents (72.7%). There is a relationship between pregnant women's knowledge about Triple Elimination and compliance with examinations at the Tampo Health Center in 2023 (p-Value 0.023 < 0.05). The results of the research can provide additional knowledge so that in the future, if you become pregnant again, you can comply with the Triple Elimination examination and inform pregnant women to carry out the Triple Elimination examination.
