Abstract

Coping mechanisms are an individual's ability to solve problems and respond to threatening situations. Stress is any situation that causes changes in a person's life so that forced to make adjustments to overcome it. The most important factor in resolving stress is the use of good coping mechanisms. Every prisoner has different levels of stress. This is caused by coping skills and the way of looking at the conditions of the problems faced, whether it is considered as a challenge or as a threat that has an impact on stress. This study aims to determine the relationship between coping mechanisms and stress levels in detainees in the detention house of the directorate of detention and evidence of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police. The research method is a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach, the population is 54 prisoners, total sampling 54 respondents. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis using chi square test. The results showed that the statistical test obtained a value of ρ-value = 0.000 (<0.005) means that there is a relationship between coping mechanisms and stress levels in detainees at the detention center of the Central Kalimantan Regional Police detention and evidence directorate. It can be concluded, respondents with adaptive coping mechanisms were 34 prisoners (63%) while respondents with maladaptive coping mechanisms were 20 prisoners (37%), for respondents who had normal stress levels as many as 26 people (48.1%), mild stress levels 9 people (16.7%), moderate stress levels 13 people (24.1%) and severe stress levels 6 people (11.1%).

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Toilet training merupakan tahap penting dalam perkembangan anak usia toddler untuk mencapai kemandirian buang air kecil dan besar. Pengetahuan dan sikap ibu sangat berperan dalam keberhasilan toilet training. Namun, masih ditemukan anak usia di atas 3 tahun yang menggunakan diapers, menunjukkan adanya keterlambatan dalam proses ini. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan sikap ibu tentang toilet training pada anak usia toddler di PAUD St. Yosef Palangka Raya. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional dan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi adalah seluruh ibu yang memiliki anak usia toddler di PAUD St. Yosef. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 30 responden, menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner pengetahuan dan sikap. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Spearman Rank. Hasil: Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat hubungan signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap ibu tentang toilet training, dengan nilai korelasi (r = 0,435) dan signifikansi (p = 0,016 < 0,05). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa Ha diterima, artinya semakin tinggi tingkat pengetahuan, semakin positif pula sikap ibu terhadap toilet training. Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara tingkat pengetahuan dengan sikap ibu tentang toilet training pada anak usia toddler. Ibu dengan pengetahuan yang baik cenderung memiliki sikap yang lebih positif dalam menerapkan toilet training.

Abstract

Education is an independent nursing intervention designed to help individuals, groups, or communities, including hypertension patients, address their health issues through learning activities, with nurses acting as educators. Hypertension is a chronic disease often referred to as the "silent killer." Family support is crucial for hypertension patients in dealing with problems that arise during long-term treatment. Based on interviews with 10 elderly hypertension patients, it was found that when they went for health check-ups and monitoring at healthcare facilities, they were not accompanied by their families. This study aims to analyze the Effect of Education on Family Support in Hypertension Management for the Elderly at UPTD Jekan Raya Health Center, Palangka Raya. Method: This study used a Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest approach. The sampling technique was Purposive Sampling, with 49 respondents. Results: Based on the results of the Paired Sample Test, a p-value of 0.00 was obtained, which indicates a significance level of p < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, meaning that education significantly influences family support in managing hypertension in the elderly at UPTD Jekan Raya Health Center, Palangka Raya. Conclusion: There is a significant effect of education on family support in managing hypertension for the elderly at UPTD Jekan Raya Health Center, Palangka Raya.

Abstract

Steps to optimize treatment adherence and care are implemented through health education for patients. Health education is crucial because Diabetes Mellitus is a lifestyle-related disease, necessitating increased knowledge. In the research location, it was found that pre-elderly individuals diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus were routinely undergoing treatment, but their blood sugar levels remained unstable. Additionally, they rarely engaged in physical activity, their Diabetes Mellitus diet was uncontrolled, and they often did not regularly take diabetes medication. If left unaddressed, this could lead to complications. The objective of this study is to analyze the effect of health education on the knowledge of pre-elderly individuals about Diabetes Mellitus complications at the internal medicine clinic of Palangka Raya General Hospital. Method: This study used a Pre-Experimental design with a one-group pre- and post-test approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling, with 60 respondents. Results: Based on the Wilcoxon test results, a p-value of 0.000 was obtained, indicating a significance level of p < 0.05, meaning Ha was accepted. This shows that there is an effect of health education on the knowledge of pre-elderly individuals regarding Diabetes Mellitus complications at the internal medicine clinic of Palangka Raya General Hospital. Conclusion: There is an effect of health education on the knowledge of pre-elderly individuals about Diabetes Mellitus complications. This study can be used as a source of information and to establish a counseling corner for providing health education on a weekly basis.
