Abstract

The last decade has seen a shift in humanities research, including literature, both in terms of theory and methods. Literature is not only analyzed based on the sociology of literary works, but also the sociology of authors with multidisciplinary theories. Everyone has a position in the social arena on which to concentrate. His position can change from ordinary to extraordinary, Or vice versa. Trajectories can be seen as the result of contestation to obtain symbolic, economic, cultural and social capital. The aim of research on the trajectory of the Indonesian Muhammadiyah figure Nur Cholis Huda (NCH) is to analyze his habitus, capital and arena. This research uses Bourdieu's qualitative descriptive praxis theory. Data collection techniques were carried out through biographical narrative interviews and data validity through triangulation. The research results show that the NCH journey is influenced by : 1). Habitual literacy is acquired from school and does not come from the family structure. 2). The ability to utilize cultural capital and convert it into economic, social and symbolic capital, and 3). Habitus literacy plus strong cultural capital supports his success in competitions in the world of writing.Thus, to understand the success of an agent/figure in an arena, it is necessary to analyze its trajectory.

Abstract

Linguistic landscape is a linguistic study that examines the use of language in public spaces. Language variation is defined as a form of language use that is different from a speaker. The emergence of language variations is motivated by the existence of a multilingual and multicultural society in Indonesia. This research aims to describe the use of language variations, language contestation, the function of these languages ​​and the sign-making linguistic landscape at the Surabaya Zoo. This research method uses descriptive qualitative with observation and photography data collection techniques. The data obtained is in the form of images containing language signs of the linguistic landscape. The research results found seven language variations at the Surabaya Zoo with three monolingual language variations, two bilingual language variations, and two multilingual language variations. The linguistic landscape sign makers at the Surabaya Zoo are from public and private authorities/individuals. The function of the linguistic landscape at the Surabaya Zoo namely, as a marker for buildings and rooms; as a medium of guidance and information; as a medium of prohibition and warning; as well as as a medium for distributing advertising. Abstract

The phenomenon of a person's existential crisis is becoming increasingly complex in the modern era. Anyone has the right to fight for their existence, including a singer. The purpose of this research is to find the existence of the song album For the World, Love, and Dirty by Nadin Amizah. To deepen the meaning of existence, the researcher uses Soren Kierkegaard's theory of existentialism. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The data source used by the researcher is in the form of song lyrics on the album. The data collection technique is by studying documents by studying song lyrics to identify aesthetic, ethical, and religious existence. The results of this study show that Nadin describes the three stages of existence in the album of the song Untuk Dunia, Love, and Dirtynya. On an aesthetic level, there is an attitude of freedom without regard for morals. Then, enter the phase of emotional maturity in accordance with responsibility at the ethical stage. Then, it is perfected at the religious stage, that is, surrender to God.
