Abstract

Bali, known as the "Island of the Gods," is a popular tourist destination with natural beauty, rich culture, and the hospitality of the local people which form the backbone of the region's economy through the tourism sector. The year 2022 was crucial for Bali to recover its tourism sector, which was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, while facing challenges of changing worker migration patterns due to travel restrictions and global economic changes. This study aims to understand global public interest in tourism and search trends related to tourism, as well as migrant worker interest in Bali Province, using Google Trends analysis. The analysis was conducted using the accumulated searches for the keywords 'Bali' and 'Jobs Bali,' sorted by the countries whose residents searched for these keywords the most on Google Trends. The results show that interest in Bali as a tourist destination mostly comes from European countries, while searches for the keyword "Jobs Bali" are mostly conducted from Australia. The search trend for "Bali" increased throughout 2022, while searches for "Jobs Bali" tended to fluctuate. These findings indicate that the dissemination of information about tourism and employment opportunities in Bali Province is still uneven in several countries, necessitating the government to strengthen management and marketing strategies to revive the tourism and economy sectors in Bali Province.

Abstract

The problem of crime is an issue that often occurs in various countries, including Indonesia. This research aims to obtain a general picture of the number of criminal acts in North Sumatra Province, identify the factors that influence the number of criminal acts, and determine the magnitude of the contribution of influential variables. Analysis was carried out on crime data in North Sumatra using Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The research results show that the GRDP variable has a significant effect on the number of crimes. While the variables Percentage of Poor Population, TPT, and Population Density do not have a significant effect on the number of crimes, it is hoped that the results of the research will provide a deeper understanding of the factors that influence crime in North Sumatra and help in formulating prevention policies that are more targeted.

Abstract

Educational inequality is a longstanding issue in Indonesia. Uneven educational conditions are triggered by several specific factors. This study aims to identify the factors affecting educational attainment through the approach of the average length of schooling (RLS). The analytical method used is multiple linear regression. The analysis results show that the Percentage of Poor Population (PPM), the proportion of women aged 20-24 years who are married or living together before the age of 18, the student-teacher ratio, and the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) significantly affect the average length of schooling in Indonesia. The increase in PPM and the proportion of married women tends to increase educational inequality in Indonesia, while the increase in the student-teacher ratio and TPT can reduce educational inequality in Indonesia.

Abstract

Consumptive behavior refers to the tendency of individuals to consume goods excessively without careful consideration. This behavior is prevalent among the younger generation, particularly among students. This study aims to investigate the influence of e-commerce and self-control on the consumptive behavior of students at Politeknik Statistika STIS. The analysis is conducted using a sample of 94 students from the first to the third year at Politeknik Statistika STIS. The results are obtained using logistic regression and ordinal regression analysis. The findings indicate that the variables of student gender, all categories of self-control status, and all categories of e-commerce influence have a significant simultaneous effect on the consumptive behavior status of Polstat STIS students.

Abstract

One of the main problems in Indonesia is poverty. According to the Indonesian Central Statistical Agency, by 2023, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT) is one of the provinces with a high number of poor people with a total of 1.1 million poor people. The causes of high poverty in East Nusa Southeast province need to be investigated. The study aims to find out the general picture of poverty and the variables that are supposed to affect it, as well as the significant variables affecting poverty in East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2023. The method used in the research is multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis showed that the economic growth variable (PDRB) and the unemployment rate (TPT) had a negative and significant impact on poverty, while education (average school age) and human development index (IPM) had no significant impact. The R-square value of this study is 0.567 which means that 56.7 percent of the diversity of the poverty variable can be explained by the economic growth variables, education, the human development index, and the unemployment rate, while the remaining 43.3 percent are described by other variables that do not fit into the model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of access to proper sanitation, poverty, and population on the Environmental Quality Index (IKLH) on Sumatra Island during the period 2018–2022. Environmental problems in this region are influenced by socio-economic and demographic factors, such as low access to sanitation, poverty levels, and uneven population growth. The study uses a quantitative approach with a Fixed Effect Model panel data regression model, selected based on the results of the Chow and Hausman test. Data used are sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), processed to produce a picture of fluctuations in the IKLH, sanitation access, poverty, and population in ten provinces on Sumatra Island. The results show that access to proper sanitation has a positive effect on the IKLH, while poverty and population have a negative effect. Aceh Province recorded the highest IKLH, while Lampung recorded the lowest, with variations influenced by infrastructure and welfare inequality. The output of this study is expected to form the basis for policies to improve environmental quality through improving sanitation access, poverty alleviation, and managing sustainable population growth.

Abstract

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) remains a significant public health concern in many countries, including Indonesia. West Java Province is one of the regions in Indonesia that bears a considerable burden in addressing pulmonary tuberculosis cases. The number of TB cases in this province has continued to rise, with 224,798 cases reported in 2024. This study aims to provide a general overview of the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in West Java in 2024 and to identify the variables that influence its occurrence. The analytical method used in this study is multiple linear regression. The study utilizes secondary data obtained from publications by Statistics Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS). The results show that the number of healthcare facilities has a significant effect on the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in West Java. In contrast, population density, the percentage of the poor population, and the percentage of livable housing do not have a significant effect on the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the province.
