Abstract

The use of sandpaper letters media is one of the factors that can train and develop fine motor skills of early childhood. In this regard, this study aims to determine the relationship between children's activities in the use of sandpaper letters media with children's fine motor skills in Group B RA Al-Ihsan Cibiru Hilir, Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency. This study applies a quantitative approach and correlational method with descriptive statistics as a calculation test tool. The respondents of this study were 19 children in Group B RA Al-Ihsan Cibiru Hilir, Bandung Regency. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, performance and documentation as supporting tools for data collection. The results of data analysis showed that the activity of using sandpaper letters media obtained an average value of 83. This figure is in the interval of 80-100 with a very good category. While the fine motor skills of early childhood obtained an average value of 75. This figure is in the interval of 70-79 with a good category. The relationship between the activity of using sandpaper letters media and the fine motor skills of early childhood obtained a correlation coefficient value of 0.61. The correlation coefficient figure is in the interval of 0.600 - 0.799 with a strong/high category. The results of the significance test show t_count = 3.177 > t_(table) = 2.110. This means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. In other words, the activity of using sandpaper latters media has a significant positive relationship with the fine motor skills of early childhood in Group B RA Al-Ihsan Cibiru Hilir, Bandung Regency. The contribution of the activity of using sandpaper letters media to the fine motor skills of early childhood is 37%. This means that there are still 63% other factors that influence the fine motor skills of early childhood in Group B RA Al-Ihsan Cibiru Hilir, Bandung Regency.
