Abstract

The increasing development of online shops is one of the factors in the occurrence of shopaholic behavior. Shopping through online shops is also conducted by women, especially female students, in the village of Dadapan Lamongan. This study examines how the typology of the shopaholic lifestyle for women, especially female students, in the village of Dadapan and what factors influence women in the village of Dadapan to become shopaholic perpetrators. This study uses a qualitative method with phenomenological approach in understanding the lifestyle changes behind their actions in online shopping. The data were analyzed using the theory of consumption society Jean Baudrillard. There are several findings from this study: 1) There are several shopaholic typologies experienced by women in Dadapan village, namely, the shopaholic type who does not lose to others, the shopaholic type follows trends, the shopaholic type has impulsive symptoms on the spot, and the last is the shopaholic type that is similar. 2). Online shopping addiction can shape changes in the lifestyle of women in Dadapan Village. The factors that cause the shopaholic lifestyle are because they always follow the development of products in the online shop and always monitor the latest products in the online shop. The rise of online shop sites has also caused women in Dadapan Village, especially female students, to behave shopaholic.

Abstract

Ada perubahan gaya hidup perempuan di Desa Dadapan dalam memenuhi kebutuhuannya, yakni berbelanja online, hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor sehingga mereka disebut shopaholic. Fakta ini dibedah menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi serta teori masyarakat konsumsi Jean Baudrillard. Hasilnya adalah: 1) Belanja online ini dipakai sebagai alat pemenuhan kebutuhan sebagai implementasi dari perkembangan modern. Celakanya, gaya hidup baru ini justeru membuat perekonomian tidak terkontrol alias boros. Buktinya, dalam sebulan tidak cukup untuk membeli satu barang. Mereka rela merubah gaya hidup karena mengikuti perkembangan zaman, mengikuti trend, maketplace memberikan gambar terbaik untuk menarik hati customer, menjadi shopaholic karena selalu mengikuti perkembangan produk yang ada di online shop, dan selalu memantau produk terbaru yang ada di online shop. Munculnya situs online shop ini menyebabkan para perempuan di Desa Dadapan terutama kalangan mahasiswi menjadi pelaku shopaholic. Jika dikategorika, maka muncul tipologi shopaholic pantang kalah dengan orang lain, mengikuti perkembangan tren, gejala impulsif di tempat, dan yang terakhir tipe shopaholic yang senada. 2) Faktornya adalah pengaruh dari diri sendiri, lingkungan pergaulan, dan keluarga.

Abstract

This research examines how the lives of farmers in rural Lamongan during the pandemic, the challenges faced by farmers during the pandemic, and the forms of resilience that farmers take in maintaining their agricultural productivity in the pandemic era. Data was collected using qualitative research methods and a case study approach to show how farmers carried out the form of resilience in rural areas in Lamongan Regency during the COVID-19 pandemic. There were eight informants whose data were extracted in this research consisting of four male farmers and four female farmers. Observations and interviews with informants were carried out from July to October 2020. This research occurred in a rural area, namely in Dadapan Village, Solokuro Subdistrict, Lamongan Regency, East Java, considering that farmers in the village still carry out farming activities even though they are in a pandemic condition. From this research, it can be seen that farmers in Dadapan Village are the affected parties during the pandemic and must make efforts to survive. The challenge farmers face the losses experienced due to difficulties in marketing their agricultural products. Farmers’ resilience forms include, first, continuing to do farming during this pandemic while still paying attention to health protocols; second, creating marketing strategies for their agricultural products online; and third, maintaining their enthusiasm to continue farming.
