Abstract

The study aimed to examine the effect of the percentage of missing values on the matching of the items of the graded model. To achieve this, the experimental approach was followed in conducting the study, as hypothetical data were used to simulate the experimental conditions represented by the percentage of missing values. It has three levels (5%, 10%, and 20%). Moreover, the compensation method is represented by simple regression. The study found that there were no statistically significant differences in the percentage of items matching the graded model according to the missing percentages (5% and 10%). Moreover, there were statistically significant differences in the percentage of items matching the graded model according to the missing percentages (20%). Therefore, we must use the different nonparametric item response theory (IRT) models because of the good information, it provides to researchers about the test and its items without missing items suitable for this purpose and prejudice—the cumulative response of the subjects.

Abstract

Private universities in Jordan have witnessed a major shift in teaching methods and strategies, as e-learning techniques have become an integral part of the educational policies followed. Therefore, the study aimed to identify the effect of social studies teachers’ use of e-learning techniques in developing the perceived self-competencies of university students, depending on gender and field of specialization. To achieve this, the descriptive analytical method was used in conducting the study. The perceived self-efficacy test was applied to a sample of 292 university students who were randomly selected. The study found that e-learning techniques contributed to raising the level of perceived self-efficacy among males more than among females. It did not have a significant impact on its interaction with the student’s field of specialization. The results also indicate the importance of the role played by social studies teachers with technological educational techniques in improving the level of students’ self-efficacy. Moreover, social relations are among the most important factors contributing to building a conscious generation that preserves human dignity. Therefore, we must research the negatives of e learning to find out the reason behind the lack of improvement in the level of perceived self-efficacy among females.

Abstract

Positive social behavior is one of the most important characteristics of humans on this planet. Through these behaviors, the individual shows his sympathy for others and his desire to help them. Therefore, the current study aimed to know the level of social skills among university students and their impact on their psychological solidity and adaptive behavior. To achieve the study objectives, the descriptive analytical approach was used in its implementation. The scale of positive social behavior, psychological solidity, and adaptive behavior was applied to a random sample of 370 male and female students from private universities in Jordan. The study concluded that the level of positive social behavior among students reached 3.49, which is within the average level, and that female students enjoy a high level of social skills compared to university students. The results also indicated a statistically significant effect of the level of social skills on both psychological solidity and adaptive behavior among university students. Positive social behavior also works to provide support between individuals in cases that require support or in difficult situations, which increases their psychological solidity and adaptive behavior. This confirms the effective role of social behaviors in improving both the level of psychological solidity and adaptive behavior among university students.
