Abstract

The reason for this examination is to break down the impact of Unique Independence reserve (Otsus) to the financial development of Aceh. The model utilized in this examination is straightforward direct relapse by involving time series information for the extended period of 2008 to 2022. Findings of this research show that Otsus fund has a positive and significant effect to the economic growth of Aceh which is 1 percent increasing in Otsus fund will increase 0.32 percent the economic growth of Aceh by assumption that other variables do not change. This shows that Otsus fund has an important role in increasing economic growth of Aceh. Because the role of this Otsus fund in increasing Aceh's economic growth can be optimalized in the future, it is recommended to the Aceh Government to evaluate and review the purpose, allocation, and the using of the Otsus fund for Aceh and Locale/Regions Government.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between the Human Development Index (HDI), the availability of electricity and sanitation infrastructure on income inequality in the island of Sumatera. This research uses panel data from 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra in the 2011-2022 period. This research method used panel data regression analysis using the Random Effect Model (REM). Based on the results of research that has been conducted, it shows that HDI does not have a significant influence on income inequality, the availability of electricity infrastructure has a significant negative influence on income inequality, and sanitation has a significant negative influence on income inequality. The results of this study is expected to serve as a reference for the government in formulating policies aimed at reducing income inequality and improve equitable development on Sumatra Island.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of inflation, interest rate and exchange rate on Indonesia's balance of payments by using annual data for the period 1993-2024. The method used is Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) which is able to identify short-term and long-term effects simultaneously, and accommodate the characteristics of non-stationary time series data with different levels of integration. The results show that in the short term, inflation has a positive effect, while exchange rates and interest rates have a negative effect on the balance of payments. Meanwhile, in the long run, exchange rates and interest rates have a positive effect, and inflation has a negative but insignificant effect. The novelty of this study lies in the use of ARDL model with long data coverage and explicit separation between short-run and long-run dynamics, which has rarely been comprehensively discussed in previous studies related to the balance of payments in Indonesia. The government's role is required to maintain price and interest rate stability through adaptive exchange rate management in order to maintain Indonesia's balance of payments.
