Abstract

This study seeks to assess the efficacy of employing the experimental method to enhance students' comprehension and academic outcomes regarding object properties in 5th-grade education. The experimental method serves as an alternative instructional strategy, enabling students to directly engage with scientific concepts through hands-on experiments. The research was conducted over two cycles, implementing the experimental method. In the initial cycle, results indicated that the majority of students had not attained mastery of the subject, with the class averaging a score of only 4.3. This suggests that traditional teaching methods may not fully accomplish the desired educational objectives. However, following the second cycle and the integration of the experimental method, there was a notable enhancement in students' comprehension and academic achievements. Approximately 82% of students reached mastery level, leading to a class average score increase to 6.2. These findings underscore the effectiveness of the experimental method in fostering active student participation in the learning process. By immersing students in practical experiments, they can develop a deeper grasp of scientific principles. Moreover, this hands-on approach bolsters students' motivation as they witness the real-world applications of their classroom learning. These outcomes make significant contributions to refining instructional strategies for teaching object properties to 5th-grade students.

Abstract

This research is a collaborative classroom action research conducted with class 5C teachers at SDN 01 Taman to determine the effectiveness of the game method in improving student learning outcomes in thematic learning. The research was carried out at SDN 01 Taman Madiun from February to April 2024 in the 2023/2024 academic year. The subjects of this research were 28 students in class V-C at SDN 01 Taman. This research consists of pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II stages. Each of the two research process cycles has three stages, namely: planning, research implementation, observation, and reflection. The data analysis technique is to compare student learning outcomes before and after the actions in Cycle I and Cycle II. The research results show that the game method can improve student learning outcomes. This is proven by the increase in learning outcomes observed in both cycle 1 and cycle 2. In the pre-cycle the average value was 62.3, then in cycle 1 there was an increase, namely 71.1, while in cycle 2 there was a quite significant increase, namely 80,9.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of class VA students in science learning at SD Negeri 1 Taman Kota Madiun using experimental methods. This research is classroom action research. This research was carried out at SDN 01 Taman Kota Madiun in semester 2 of the 2023/2024 academic year. The research subjects were 18 VA class students. The research objects were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The research results show that using experimental methods improves student learning outcomes. This can be seen from the learning results of 18 students who had an average in the pre-cycle of 64.44, while cycle 1 experienced an increase to 74.44 and cycle 2 experienced an increase again to 81.66.

Abstract

Education is one of the crucial factors in the growth of a nation. According to this idea, it is necessary to make efforts to improve the quality of the learning process, especially in understanding the concept of changes in the form of objects by carrying out classroom action research with the aim of improving the quality of students' learning in various aspects, especially in efforts to increase students' understanding using experimental methods. This classroom action research was carried out in two learning cycles using each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, assessment and reflection. during the research in March in class V of SDN 01 Taman Kota Madiun, with a total of 28 students. The data collection methods used are qualitative data and quantitative data. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the experimental method can increase the understanding of class V students at SDN 01 Taman regarding the concept of changes in the form of objects, which is proven by increasing the percentage of student learning test results in cycle I of 67.50%, which is higher in cycle II of 85.50%.
