Abstract

Abstract This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of cold compresses and warm compresses to reduce the intensity of postoperative pain in patients with fractures. The design of this research used type of research in this study is quasy experiment with pretest and posttest design with two comparison treatments. The sample are divided into which warm compresses (15 patients) and cold compresses group (15 patients) taken by purposive sampling with inclusion criteria. The instrument tool that applied for both of group was observation form such as Numeric Rating Scale (NRS).Cold and warm compresses were given for 5-10 minutes in each group. The data was analysed using univariate and bivariate with mann-whitney. The results showed that the average intensity of pain in the group before being given a warm compress by 3.07 and 2.00 after. Furthermore, the average pain intensity on a cold compress is a group of 3.47 before and 1.87 after a cold compress. The mann-whitney test results showed that p value = 0.00 <0.05, it means that there are significant differences in pain intensity between before and after the cold compress. This shows that the administration of an effective cold compress more effective in reducing pain intensity in patients with fractures. Keywords: fracture, pain intensity, cold compresses

Abstract

AbstractPneumonia is an infection that occurs in the lungs that can be caused by bacteria, viruses or fungi. proper handling of pneumonia at home by parents can reduce dead mortality from pneumonia. This study aimed to determine factors related to the the factors that affect the mother in the care of infants with pneumonia at home. The research used descriptive correlation design with retrospektif approach. The sample are 60 respondent was non probability sampling and purposive sampling with selected base inclusion criteria. Instrument used in the study was questionnaires that on validity and reliability test. The analysis used are univariate and bivariate with chi square test. The results showed that occupational factors (p value 0,005) and the resources (p value 0,006) < α (0,05) there is a correlation with mother’s knowledge about pneumonia toddler care at home. The aged factor (p value 0,866), education (p value 0,405) and earnings (p value 0,545) > α (0,05) the result show there is no correlation with mother’s knowledge about pneumonia toddler care at home. The results of this study is necessary to improve health promotion about caring children with pneumonia at home. Keywords: Knowledge, toddler, pneumonia

Abstract

AbstractHealth service and quality of patient satisfaction influence each other. A good health care will produce good quality and will make high level of patient satisfaction of the health service itself. This study aimed to determine the relationship of health care quality and patient satisfaction in Jaya Mukti Public Health Center Dumai City. The study design used was correlation with cross sectional approach. The samples were 100 respondents recruited using simple random sampling. Measuring instruments used were the patient satisfaction questionnaires and quality health services. The analysis using univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution and bivariate using chi-square test. The results showed good quality of health care as many as 67 respondents (67%), and satisfied with the health services as much as 52 respondents (52%). The statistical result obtained ρ-value (0.000) <α (0.05), so there was relationship between the quality of healthcare and patient satisfaction in Jaya Mukti Public Health Center Dumai City. The results of this study recommends for health workers, especially nurses to improve the quality of services to achieve patient satisfaction with health services provided.
