Abstract

Yogyakarta City has been known as a cultural and educational center in Indonesia, creating a rich ecosystem for the growth of the creative economy, one of which is located in Kotabaru. Kotabaru, as an area with great potential to become a creative environment and is one of the development locations for the creative city program based on the Yogyakarta Creative City Road Map 2021. In encouraging the development of a creative city, one of the basic foundations is the availability of a creative environment or creative milieu. This study aims to identify the condition of physical infrastructure in supporting the development of a Creative City in Kotabaru, Yogyakarta. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method with a deductive approach through field observations and interviews with the Yogyakarta City Tourism Agency and the Yogyakarta City Development Planning Agency to gain an in-depth understanding of the condition of physical infrastructure. The results of this study indicate that physical infrastructure in Kotabaru has a significant contribution in creating an environment that supports creativity and innovation. However, there are still several aspects of physical infrastructure in Kotabaru that need to be improved to enhance the spatial experience for the community and creative economy actors.
