Abstract

The objective of this study is to see reasons of learning obstacles on learning process and practicum of basic chemistry course in relation with practicum and mastery of the theory. The study used descriptive design and collected data using test and questionnaire. The study assigned 40 students of biology Class at UNISBA. The study revealed that problems on learning basic chemistry is the mastery of teaching materials. Percentage of the problems is contributed in trems of: (1) practicum process 53.29%, (2) teaching process 66.26%, and (3) practicum implementation 66.26%. On social factor, statistically contributes problems up to 66.15%.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to see: (1) students ’ motivation on the practicum of sciences in the subject of biotechnology, (2) psychomotor learning outcomes in the practicum, and (3) an evidence whether learning motivation relates to the psychomotor learning outcomes. This study used correlation design and assigned the first semester 40 students of Biology Department at Balitar Islamic University in the year 2015/2016. Data were analyzed using product moment analysis. This study discovered that a .623 correlational point was achieved in the analysis, indicating that positive relation exists between learning motivation in the practicum activities and psychomotor learning outcomes.
