Abstract

This article examines the management of the relationship of love in education from Hamka's perspective in his interpretation of Al-Azhar. The study focuses on revealing the forms of managing the educational relationship of love based on Hamka's interpretation of certain verses in the Tafsir Al-Azhar. The research involves literature review using Tafsir Al-Azhar as its data source. The findings indicate that several forms of relationship management according to Tafsir Al-Azhar include: congruent attitudes (QS. An-Nisâ’(4): 63); open self-image (QS. ʻAbasa (80): 1-10); non-dominative actions (QS. Asy-Syuʻarâ’(26): 215); serious responses (QS. Yûsuf (12): 4-5); providing alternative choices (QS. Al-Qashash (28): 27-28); offering acceptance opportunities (QS. Al-Kahfi (18): 60-64); and full sensitivity (QS. At-Taubah (9): 128). Each of these forms of management found is part of the general principles of relationship management based on the elements that serve as indicators of the educational relationship of love itself.

Abstract

This paper examines the role of Islamic education within the Darud Da’wah wal-Irsyad (DDI) network in Eastern Indonesia as a medium for developing social immunity through religious authority and pedagogical practices. The study aims to explore how Islamic education within the DDI network promotes moderate religious understanding, how the authority of teachers and religious scholars regulates religious discourse, and how institutional and cultural mechanisms within Islamic education contribute to building non-radical communities. This research employs a qualitative approach using qualitative content analysis. Data were collected through the examination of educational documents, including curricula and institutional materials, as well as semi-structured interviews with key educational actors such as institutional leaders, teachers, and alumni. The analysis focuses on identifying value orientations, normative assumptions, and social practices that shape moderate religious perspectives. The findings reveal that Islamic education within the DDI network functions as an effective social infrastructure for cultivating social immunity against radicalism. The authority of teachers and religious scholars grounded in scholarly legitimacy and cultural influence plays a central role in translating moderate Islamic values into curricula, daily educational practices, and community-based religious outreach. The study concludes that Islamic educational institutions and religious organizations hold strategic importance in strengthening social resilience and promoting preventive approaches to radicalism that prioritize community development rather than security-centered responses. The originality of this study lies in its conceptualization of Islamic education as a form of “social immunity,” highlighting how religious authority, institutional culture, and pedagogical practices interact to create community-based resilience against radical ideologies, particularly within the educational network of DDI in Eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the roots of the ecological crisis in Indonesia driven by the paradigm of extractive development and to evaluate the limitations of modern regulations in providing equitable environmental protection. Although numerous studies have examined the tension between economic development and ecological sustainability, a research gap remains regarding the integration of classical Islamic legal concepts, particularly ḥimā, into a contemporary environmental law framework grounded in an ecocentric approach. Therefore, this study contributes by proposing a conceptual reconstruction of Ecocentric Fiqh through the revitalization of the ḥimā instrument as an alternative mechanism for protecting Community-Managed Areas (Wilayah Kelola Rakyat / WKR) amid the expansion of extractive development in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative method using a juridical-normative approach and library research. Data were collected from strategic environmental reports, including Environmental Outlook 2025 published by WALHI, and were examined alongside contemporary Islamic legal literature and reputable international journal sources. The analysis was conducted to connect empirical ecological crisis data with the normative construction of Islamic law in the context of environmental protection. The findings reveal that development policies centered on economic growth have generated significant ecological debt, marked by extensive deforestation, agrarian conflicts, and investment dominance in natural resource governance. Existing positive law tends to be anthropocentric and has not yet provided substantive ecological protection. As a key finding, this study demonstrates that revitalizing the concept of ḥimā within the framework of Ecocentric Fiqh offers a more inclusive model of territorial protection by positioning nature as an entity with intrinsic value. The contribution of this study lies in developing a theoretical framework for Islamic environmental law that is not merely normative but also relevant for addressing contemporary ecological challenges in Indonesia.
