Abstract

This article discusses the impact of Chromebook media on critical reasoning skills and understanding of Earth's structure among 5th-grade students. Education that focuses on enhancing students' critical reasoning and comprehension has become a crucial aspect in preparing a smart and creative generation. Teachers can adapt teaching methods to meet students' needs, interests, and abilities. By utilizing various Chromebook media tools, teachers can provide broad access to information to support collaboration. This study aims to determine the influence of Chromebook-based learning media on critical reasoning skills and understanding of Earth's structure concepts among 5th-grade students. The results indicate that students using Chromebooks showed significant improvements in critical reasoning skills and comprehension of Earth's structure concepts compared to the group using conventional media. By using quantitative research methods through a pretest-posttest design, students using Chromebook media were compared to those using conventional media. Thus, this study concludes that Chromebooks play an essential role in facilitating a learning process that supports students' critical thinking skill development.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning engagement of first-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri Gili Barat, Kamal District, by using Kahoot as a learning media for the topic of comparing numbers. Student engagement is a key factor in achieving optimal learning outcomes, especially at the elementary school level. The method used in this study is a quasi-experiment, involving 20 students as the subjects of the research. Data were collected through observation sheets and questionnaires designed to measure the level of student engagement and motivation during the learning process. The results of the study show a significant improvement in student engagement, where the average engagement rate before the use of Kahoot was 60%, and after the application of this media, it increased to 85%. Additionally, 90% of the students reported that they felt happy and motivated when using Kahoot. This study recommends that teachers consider using educational technology such as Kahoot in basic education to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of a Canva-based basic locomotor movement tutorial video on the long jump ability of fourth-grade students at UPTD SD Negeri Telang 2, Kamal District. The research method used is an experimental design with pre-test and post-test. The subjects of the study consisted of 30 students, divided into two groups: an experimental group using the tutorial video and a control group using conventional teaching methods. A pre-test was conducted to measure the students' initial abilities, while the post-test was conducted after six sessions of intervention. The results show that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in their long jump ability, with the average jump distance increasing from 1.5 meters (pre-test) to 2.3 meters (post-test). In contrast, the control group only showed an improvement from 1.4 meters to 1.7 meters. Data analysis using the t-test produced a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant difference between the two groups. These findings suggest that the use of a Canva-based tutorial video is effective in improving students' long jump abilities and can be an innovative alternative teaching method in physical education.
