IKHTISAR: Mayoritas mahasiswa menganggap bahwa matakuliah Analisis Real sulit difahami. Oleh karena itu perlu suatu kajian tentang penyebab kurang fahamnya mahasiswa. Kemampuan prasyarat, yang ada pada mahasiswa, dianalisis dan dikaji seberapa besar pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa dalam matakuliah Analisis Real. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Pada penelitian ini, populasinya adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika UNSUR (Universitas Suryakancana) di Cianjur, tingkat 3 semester 6, sebanyak 49 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes (tes uraian kemampuan penalaran matematis dalam matakuliah Analisis Real) dan non-tes (daftar nilai matakuliah Pengantar Dasar Matematika dan Kalkulus I). Penelitian menghasilkan bahwa: (1) Terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara kemampuan prasyarat dengan kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa dalam matakuliah Analisis Real; dan (2) Terdapat pengaruh signifikan kemampuan prasyarat terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis mahasiswa dalam matakuliah Analisis Real. Diharapkan setelah adanya analisis dan kajian tentang masalah ini akan ada solusinya, baik berupa perbaikan kurikulum maupun bahan ajar.KATA KUNCI: Matakuliah Analisis Real, kemampuan prasyarat, kemampuan penalaran matematis, hubungan positif dan signifikan, serta  perbaikan kurikulum dan bahan ajar.ABSTRACT: âThe Effect of Prerequisites Ability towards Mathematical Reasoning Ability of Students in the Real Analysis Courseâ. The majority of students think that the Real Analysis courses are elusive. Hence, the need for a study of the causes less understanding of the students. Prerequisite capabilities, that exist in students, were analysed and researched how big influence on mathematical reasoning abilities of students in the course of Real Analysis. Research methods was using the quantitative methods. In this study, the population is students of Mathematics Education Program Study at UNSUR (Suryakancana University) in Cianjur, at 3 semesters 6 levels, were 49 people. The data was collected using a test instrument (test description of mathematical reasoning abilities in the course of Real Analysis ) and non-test (grade list from the courses of Introduction to Basic Mathematics and Calculus I). In this study resulted that: (1) There is a positive and significant relationship between the ability of the prerequisite and mathematical reasoning abilities of students in the course of Real Analysis; and (2) There is a significant effect the capability requirements towards the mathematical reasoning ability of the students in the course of Real Analysis. It is expected that after the analysis and study of this problem will have a solution, either in the form of improving the curriculum and teaching materials.KEY WORD: Real Analysis courses, prerequisite capability, mathematical reasoning ability, positive and significant relationship, and improving the curriculum and teaching materials.
