Abstract

This thesis focused on the tittle of the subject “Possesive Characterization Of Noah Character in The Boy Next Door Movie Directed By Rob Cohen. The objective problems in this thesis to know The possesive characterization of Noah character. To analyze this thesis the writer use steps of literature. In a literary work, like a movie there is a character.Character can be tangiblehuman, animals or other creature that has characteristic like humans. These are the characters that will have the greatest effect on the plot or are the most affected by what happens in the story. The qualitative descriptive is used to apply the data collection method and the data get from some steps, they are watching, comprehends the movie, choose and take the data that have related to the topic, selecting the important dialogues and making quotatios of the text to support this thesis. The methods of the study are qualitative methods that presented on descriptive ways that present all data and descriptive all intriks that has own meaning of analyze aspects. By this methods the researcher use a study approach on Noah character.The data primer of the researcher taking from the movie it self and also from the literatures that borrowed from the Panca Marga University libraries. This thesis analyze about The Boy Next Door. This movie tells someone which have a possesive personality, especially on the main character (Noah).After one-night standwith Claire and Claire end the relationship Noah began to showing his personality that very possesive and dangerous, his anger at Claire, teror, and hurting the people closest to Claire, her husband, her soon and her friend. So the researcher can analyze the story, and conclude that Noah character in this movie have a possesive personality

Abstract

This research analyzes a Social Conflict in Playwright Macbeth by William Shakespeare. The social conflict appears in playwright of Macbeth is about how the taking over of King Scotland’s power by his military leader, Macbeth. In his efforts to seize the power, Macbeth that was aided by his wife and the witches created such social conflict hoping that it would lead him to be the king of Scotland.This research uses theory conflict of Ralf Dahrendorf in which there are two from three means used in this study. Those are latent and manifest interest, and group contradiction and social change.Following the situation created by Macbeth, it was then gave bad impact to the social environment and it lead to social changes.During the time Macbeth as a king and ruled the kingdom, there were many bloodshed which then influenced to people of Scotland’s way of thinking. They thought that the fairness is a foul and the foul is fairness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe in depth the meaning and reveal the cultural values contained in the Temu Manten ceremony in Brumbungan Kidul Village. Many people are actors in the Temu Manten ceremony but do not know the meaning contained in each series of these ceremonies. This study uses the Symbolic Interactionalism Theory by George Herbert Mead, which is a research that examines social and cultural groups in society in depth. So that researchers must be involved and directly follow the daily aspects of their research. This study uses a qualitative method that aims to describe the symbolic meaning of Temu Manten in Brumbungan Kidul Village. In Brumbungan Kidul Village, only people who have more money use Complete Javanese Traditional Weddings. For the lower middle class, they usually only use yellow rice cone which is eaten with their lover after the marriage contract. The Temu Manten tradition is a package with displays and MUA or called WO (Wedding Organizer). It can be concluded that marriage with the Temu Manten tradition can be said to be a marker of social status.
