Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using word search puzzle media on the skimming reading skills of fourth-grade students at Sanggar Belajar Kampung Bharu, Malaysia. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a one group pretest–posttest design. The population consisted of 12 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through a skimming reading observation sheet that had been validated by a subject matter expert in Indonesian language education, and were analyzed using a paired sample t-test through SPSS 25.0. The results showed that the average score of students’ skimming reading skills was 52.50% in the pretest and 88% in the posttest. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) was obtained, indicating that the use of word search puzzle media has a significant effect on the skimming reading skills of fourth-grade students at Sanggar Belajar Kampung Bharu, Malaysia.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students' numeracy skills in learning multiplication. The study aims to describe the effect of using multiplication board media on students' numeracy skills at Sanggar Belajar Kampung Bharu Malaysia. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 8 third-grade students at Sanggar Belajar Kampung Bharu Malaysia, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were obtained through pretest and posttest assessments related to numeracy skill indicators, namely formulating problems, applying concepts, and interpreting answer results. The research results showed that the average pretest score of 66.25% increased to 96.25% in the posttest. The Shapiro–Wilk test indicated that the data were normally distributed, while the paired sample t-test result obtained a significance value of 0.004 < 0.05, thus H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. This proves that there is a significant influence of using multiplication board media on students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

This research is a PTK, which aims to improve students' Indonesian language learning outcomes on Information from Text material through Audio Visual Media. Audio Visual Media is a learning media that contains sound (Audio) and Images (Visual) in the implementation of learning. This research was conducted in the odd semester of the 2024/2025 school year. This research was conducted over 2 cycles with 1 cycle of 2 meetings. The sample of this research is all fourth grade students of SD Negeri 066054 Medan Denai totalling 22 people. The data of this study were analysed with quantitative and qualitative approaches collected through observation and giving test questions. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that, through the implementation of learning using Audio Visual media can improve student learning outcomes on the material of Information from Text. Learning outcomes increase every cycle seen from each meeting, namely meeting I average score of 55, meeting II of 58.5 meeting III of 73.5 and the last meeting or IV of 88.2. Audio Visual based learning media turned out to be very helpful for students in understanding and improving their learning outcomes related to the material that had been taught.
