Abstract

Civic education is a crucial element in realizing responsible citizenship. In Papua, where there is cultural diversity and complex socio-political challenges, the development of human rights is often hampered. In this context, civic education serves as a foundation that can strengthen understanding and respect for human rights. This article aims to examine the significance of civic education in Papua, emphasizing its impact on human rights awareness and community participation. The research applies a qualitative approach to collect data from various sources, including interviews with educators and human rights activists, as well as document analysis of relevant education policies in Papua.

Abstract

Cultural and civic literacy are two important aspects of education that are closely related to students' identity and social participation. This study aims to assess Papuan cultural and civic literacy among high school students in Jayapura City. The method in this study is a survey through a quantitative approach, involving 200 students as a sample from a total population of 1,500 high school students in Jayapura City. The results showed that Papuan cultural literacy among students is still low, while understanding of citizenship is good. This research is expected to provide insights for curriculum development that is more relevant to the local cultural context.

Abstract

Character education and Pancasila are important aspects in shaping students' personalities in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the application of character education and Pancasila values ​​through Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKN) learning at SMA N 4 Jayapura City. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the application of character education and Pancasila in this school has been running well, although there are still obstacles in its implementation. This study is expected to contribute to the development of character education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research (CAR) training for teachers at the MGMP Citizenship Education in Jayapura City aims to improve teachers' professional competence in conducting research oriented towards improving the learning process. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of the training show an increase in teachers' understanding of the concept of CAR and its application in learning. This finding makes a significant contribution to the development of education in Jayapura City.

Abstract

Political education is an important tool in increasing political awareness of the community, especially in the challenging era of globalization. This study aims to explore how political education at SMK N 1 Jayapura can contribute to increasing political awareness of students and the surrounding community. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that structured political education can improve students' understanding of political issues and globalization, and encourage them to actively participate in the democratic process.
