Abstract

Research on, "Sharia Banks in the Perception of the Community of Rantau Panjang Village, Lawang Wetan District" aims to look at the community's perception of Islamic banks and the factors that influence them. It is hoped that the results of this research will become a reference for Sharia Banks to determine strategies for their development. This research is field research. Primary data is data obtained from the field. Data was obtained through observation, interviews and discussions. The participants and informants in this research were divided into three groups, namely: community leaders, employees/ sivil servant and traders. The results of the research illustrate that sharia banks are not yet fully and integrally known by the people of Rantau Panjang village. This is due to the lack of information and outreach about sharia banking for the people of Rantau Panjang. Therefore, in an effort to popularize sharia banks so that they are known to the public, promotion is needed from various channels, starting from social media platforms and digital communications to traditional media such as newspapers, brochures to promotions in retail stores.
