Abstract

This study will assess the impact of the outreach programs that are implemented by the Community Affairs Development Division (CADD) of the Taguig City Police Station as relates to peace and order, intelligence collection, image of the police, effectiveness at resolution of crimes among many others. Several reasons are cited for conducting studies like the above ones and these include evaluation of the effectiveness of programs and the establishment of areas that require improvements. Information was collected from barangay officials, CADD personnel, and their auxiliary members using a quantitative research design comprised of surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. It was discovered that outreach benefited the police reputation, intelligence gathered, the ability to solve crimes, in general, the maintenance of public order, through stronger police-community partnerships and raised sentiments of safety. Nevertheless, the shortcoming of the program was also commended just as much as very poor communication between the police and the community members and very few of they in intelligence gathering. In accordance with the query of the effectiveness of the programs, there was no statically significant difference between the categories of the respondents, both showing that programs are helpful. But resources, which have been identified to be challenged in the CADD outreach programs, relate to resource management, diversity of skills, communication with partner agencies, and availability of the venue, allocation of the budget, financial support on constant basis, and inter-agency cooperation to name the few. In this context, the report on 'Partnerships between Law Enforcement and Local CADD Agencies' observes, The CADD outreach programs have greatly reduced the problem in relation to the concerns of both public safety and the relation of the law enforcement agency with the community. There will be improved diversification of skills and competence levels, effective utilization of the resources, good communication means, and proper housing. All this with increased budget allocations, regular financial help and strengthening links with other agents.

Abstract

A comprehensive evaluation was carried out aiming to address water quality issues in Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya. The research focused on designing and appraising a Biochar-Based Water Treatment System. This review was performed hoping to meet the urgent need for supplying potable water free of contaminants, especially during periods of elevated murkiness caused by heavy precipitation. The foundation of the system relies on utilizing biochar, specifically crafted from coconut husks. This particular biochar is renowned for its remarkable absorptive properties. A treatment system with a flow rate of 250 mL per minute was built using a systematic design process. The efficacy of this system underwent thorough testing, including examining both physical traits and bacteriological integrity. Findings revealed a statistically significant enhancement in water transparency and reduction of microbiological dangers, notably when flow rates were lower. Economic assessments, like breakeven analysis and Benefit-to-Cost ratio, further substantiated the system's feasibility. Over 48 months, it is anticipated the system would recoup initial setup expenses and ongoing operational costs, thus offering a viable and cost-effective choice for the community. Results indicate the Biochar-Based Water Treatment System has ability to supply safe drinking water and provides substantial economic benefits. This system embodies a crucial advancement towards achieving sustainable water management in the Villaverde municipality.

Abstract

This research examines the correlation between the academic achievement and licensing test outcomes of electrical engineering (EE) and mechanical engineering (ME) graduates from Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) in the Philippines over a five-year span. This study used a quantitative research technique involving a descriptive-correlational approach, trend analysis, and path analysis to examine data from graduates who underwent licensing examinations for the first time during this period. The results showed a significant correlation between academic achievement in certain subject areas and success in licensing exams for graduates in electrical engineering (EE) and mechanical engineering (ME). The equation for calculating the Board Rating for EE graduates is: Board Rating = 125.430 - (17.581 * ESAS) + (12.208 * MATH) - (13.011 * EE). The logistic regression equation is P = 1/(1 + e^(-(24.99651 + (5.812567 * MATH) - (3.72252 * ESAS) - (10.1496 * EE)), while the discriminant equation is D = -13.577 - (3.943 * MATH) + (2.723 * ESAS) + (6.134 * EE). The formula for calculating the Board Rating for ME graduates is as follows: Board Rating = 121.578 - (10.387 * IPPE) - (5.980 * MATHA) - (0.721 * MACHINE). The logistic regression equation is P = 1/(1 + e^(-(16.65924 - 1.99212 * MATHA - 5.60296 * IPPE + 2.329647 * MACHINE)), while the discriminant equation is D = -11.573 + 5.823 * IPPE + 0.931 * MATHA - 2.592 * MACHINE. Path analysis clarified both the direct and indirect impacts of academic success on the licensing test results. Mathematical models provide useful insights for engineering education, highlighting the need for focused curriculum creation and student assistance in engineering education programs. This research emphasizes the importance of certain academic accomplishments as predictors of success in professional licensing exams.

Abstract

The Vision, Mission, Developmental Goals, and Core Values (VMDGCV) define the strategic orientation and identity of higher education institutions. In technical fields like Electrical Engineering (EE), adherence to these institutional statements guarantees program relevance, stakeholder involvement, and preparedness for accreditation. This research assessed the understanding and acceptability of Nueva Vizcaya State University’s (NVSU) amended VMDGCV among electrical engineering stakeholders, including students, teachers, staff, alumni, and parents. Data were collected from 120 purposively chosen respondents using a descriptive-quantitative methodology and a validated survey. Two principal dimensions—awareness and acceptability—were examined using descriptive statistics and ANOVA. The findings indicated that respondents exhibited modest awareness (mean = 3.28, SD = 0.69), with the university's developmental objectives for cultivating competent and values-driven graduates earning the greatest acknowledgment (mean = 3.60). The average acceptance rating was moderate (mean = 3.17, SD = 0.77), indicating overall endorsement of the institution's trajectory. Electrical Engineering students had considerably superior scores compared to other groups in both domains (ANOVA: F = 9.132, p < .05), indicating enhanced engagement via academic exposure. Conversely, instructors, staff, alumni, and parents exhibited diminished levels of familiarity and support. The research emphasizes the need of more effectively integrating institutional ideals across stakeholder interactions. Results demonstrate a moderate level of awareness and acceptability, particularly among students. It is advisable to implement broader communication methods and more inclusive engagement initiatives to improve alignment with institutional objectives and cultivate a unified, mission-oriented academic atmosphere.

Abstract

This research examined the attitudes and pedagogical beliefs of secondary English teachers in Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya, to inform the creation of a Learning and Development Program. The study used a descriptive-correlational quantitative methodology with complete enumeration, including all 30 English instructors from seven public secondary schools throughout the 2024–2025 academic year. Validated survey instruments were used, and results were evaluated by descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation. Findings revealed that educators often had favorable attitudes about English instruction, particularly with their dedication to teaching, job satisfaction, aspirations for professional growth, technical proficiency, and views on remuneration. Moreover, respondents demonstrated robust pedagogical attitudes across six essential dimensions: organizational practices, effective lesson delivery, classroom management and discipline, positive student involvement, successful assessment procedures, and commitment to ethical teaching standards. Statistical investigation validated a substantial positive association between educators' attitudes and their educational convictions. This indicates that the enhancement of one construct may concurrently elevate the other, highlighting the connection between attitude and instructional practice. Considering these results, a Learning and Development Program named Project SMART (Seminar-Workshop for Advancing Reflective Teaching) was established. The program seeks to enhance and maintain teachers' positive dispositions and robust pedagogical foundations by emphasizing technology integration, fostering professional development, and advocating ethical, learner-centered methodologies. This research highlights the essential importance of ongoing professional development in enhancing English teaching and elevating educational results, especially in rural public-school settings.
