Abstract

This study aims to analyze the deconstruction of religious moderation in the book Apalagi Islam Itu Kalau Bukan Cinta?! by Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar using Jacques Derrida's hermeneutic deconstruction approach. The primary focus of this research is to examine key Islamic concepts such as azan, ihram, hijrah, salam, justice, and fraternity. These concepts are interpreted through Derrida's principles of deconstruction, particularly the concepts of differance and aporia, to uncover the hidden and dynamic meanings within the text. The research method employed is a literature study with a hermeneutic deconstructive approach. This approach not only serves as an analytical method but also as a way to deeply understand religious texts. The study seeks to reveal how the narrative of religious moderation presented by Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar is not only theologically relevant but also adaptable to diverse social and cultural contexts. The findings indicate that Derrida's deconstruction theory demonstrates the inherently dynamic, open, and never-final nature of religious meanings. By employing the concept of differance, the study uncovers the openness of religious texts to reinterpretation in various contexts. Meanwhile, through aporia, it is found that the religious narratives presented by Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar portray Islam as an inclusive, contextual, and adaptive religion that responds to socio-cultural changes. Husein Ja'far Al-Hadar positions Islam as the foundation of religious moderation, emphasizing not only the principle of love but also its relevance in maintaining harmony among religious communities in multicultural societies.

Abstract

This article describes the concept of Murtadha Muthahari's thoughts on freedom and equality of women's rights in Islam. Studying freedom and equality of women's rights in Islam is essential to respond to misinterpretation of women, which causes Westerners to make wrong assumptions about women in Islam and issue negative ideas about Muslim women. The primary data of this article is Muthahhari's work entitled Women's Rights in Islam and Women's Philosophy in Islam. This study used an analytic description method with a factual historical approach regarding the characters. This article presents how Muthahhari explains emancipation, freedom, and equality of women's rights in Islam. Muthahhari explained that emancipation is a movement that determines the equality of women's rights against men's rights to obtain justice and happiness. Meanwhile, according to Muthahhari, the freedom and equality of women's rights in Islam is that women and men have equal rights but not freedom and equality, which is the same between equality and identity, must be distinguished. Different from other figures who study women's issues, Muthahhari uses methods from Islam by using philosophy and religion as a starting point.
