Abstract

During this time, the development of technology has progressed rapidly. In this sense, many companies have followed this technological development and introduced it into the collection of inventory data of assets, goods, and their financial reports. To obtain accurate and precise data, an inventory data collection system is required. Manual accounting calculations mean that Depot Kayu Kusen Laris III often records inventory incorrectly, which affects the resulting financial reports. Therefore, this study aims to develop an inventory information system that will support accurate data collection at Kayu Kusen Laris III Depot. The conclusion of this study is that the inventory data information system is designed using Access and SQL database.

Abstract

The rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed various aspects of industrial and household activities by enabling interconnected devices to communicate and exchange data through internet networks. IoT technology supports automation, real-time monitoring, and intelligent decision-making, thereby improving operational efficiency, productivity, convenience, and security. In the industrial sector, IoT contributes to predictive maintenance, production optimization, and resource management, while in households it facilitates smart home systems that enhance energy efficiency, comfort, and safety. Despite these benefits, the widespread adoption of IoT continues to face several challenges, including data security and privacy concerns, interoperability among devices, infrastructure limitations, high implementation costs, and varying levels of digital literacy among users. This study employs a qualitative approach using phenomenological research to explore and understand the experiences, perceptions, and challenges encountered in the implementation of IoT technologies in both industrial and household environments. By examining these experiences, the study provides a comprehensive understanding of how IoT is adopted in practice and identifies the factors influencing its successful implementation. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of more effective IoT implementation strategies and support future technological innovation in the era of digital transformation.

Abstract

The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) has brought significant changes to various sectors of life, particularly in industrial and household environments. IoT refers to a network of interconnected devices that are capable of collecting, transmitting, and exchanging data through the internet, thereby enabling automated monitoring and control. This technology offers considerable potential to improve operational efficiency, convenience, security, and safety. In the industrial sector, IoT supports real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, production optimization, and more effective resource management. In households, IoT enables the use of smart devices that can improve comfort, energy efficiency, and home security. Nevertheless, the implementation of IoT still faces several challenges, including data security risks, privacy concerns, limited infrastructure, interoperability issues, high implementation costs, and low levels of digital literacy. This study employs a phenomenological approach to understand the implementation of IoT and the challenges associated with its information and communication technology. The findings are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of how IoT is adopted in industrial and household settings, as well as identify the technological and social barriers that must be addressed to support its sustainable development.
