Abstract

The purpose of this study is to present a comprehensive understanding of the various psycholinguistic barriers that learners face in the process of learning Arabic. The research not only aims to identify and analyze the factors that act as barriers, but also to investigate how psycholinguistic approaches can contribute significantly to overcoming these challenges. By exploring the interaction between psychological and linguistic aspects, this research is expected to provide deeper insights into effective ways of creating a learning environment that supports and facilitates the acquisition of Arabic as a second language. Through this approach, it is hoped that strategies can be found that can increase learner confidence and reduce anxiety that often hinders the learning process. The research method used in writing this article is library research, which is an approach that aims to standardize, compile, analyze, and synthesize information through a thorough examination of various relevant literature sources. the results of the study reveal that these barriers significantly reduce learners' active participation and learning effectiveness. The implications of this research include proposing learning strategies that can create a more engaging learning environment. Keywords : psycholinguistic barriers, Arabic language learning, language anxiety

Abstract

Arabic language learning in Islamic secondary schools often faces challenges related to limited vocabulary mastery and low speaking confidence. Vocabulary is a fundamental component of maharah kalam, yet it is frequently taught through rote memorization that does not support active oral use. This study aims to examine how interactive Wordwall media enhances Arabic vocabulary mastery through speaking activities. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research also involved one Arabic teacher, ten eighth-grade students, and one curriculum coordinator. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data condensation, data display, and verification. The findings reveal that Wordwall enhances students’ active use of Arabic vocabulary, increases observable engagement in speaking activities, and supports students’ confidence in maharah kalam. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative approach that connects vocabulary mastery, engagement, and speaking confidence through interactive digital media. The study recommends integrating Wordwall into Arabic speaking instruction to foster communicative competence and supportive learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the application of the Grammatical hunting strategy in improving the reading ability of class VII D students of MTsN 2 Sidoarjo. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The Grammatical hunting strategy is implemented through activities to search for grammatical elements (fi'il, isim, and huruf) in the text that actively involve students, followed by group discussions and presentations of the analysis results. The research findings show a significant increase in students' ability to identify grammatical elements, from 29% to 73.5%, as well as an increase in reading comprehension completion reaching 61%. In addition, this strategy is proven to be able to foster critical thinking skills, strengthen motivation, and create more interactive learning. Thus, Grammatical hunting can be recommended as an effective, innovative learning method to improve the reading skills and grammatical comprehension of Arabic language students in Islamic junior high schools. The application of this method is expected to be a reference for educators to design more creative, participatory, and sustainable learning, as well as open up opportunities for further research in different educational contexts and levels.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze errors in Arabic vocabulary writing made by students at MTsN 1 Surabaya. The main focus of this study is to identify the types of errors that occur most frequently and to examine the factors behind these errors. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing data collection techniques such as documenting students' written work and conducting interviews with Arabic language teachers. The data obtained are analyzed to identify patterns of errors and their underlying causes. The results of the study indicate that the most dominant errors include mistakes in letter writing, spelling errors, and inaccuracies in writing word forms due to a lack of understanding of Arabic morphological structure. Other contributing factors include insufficient regular writing practice, limitations in the learning materials used, and a lack of mastery of the meanings of vocabulary taught in class. These conditions show that students' writing skills still require intensive training, especially in terms of accuracy and consistency in the use of correct vocabulary. This study is expected to serve as evaluation material for teachers in designing more effective, creative, and varied learning strategies, thereby improving writing skills, strengthening vocabulary mastery, and fostering student motivation in learning Arabic continuously, both in school and in everyday life.
