Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to develop learning media based on YouTube video content in the Music History course, material on the history of ancient music, (2) to test the feasibility of learning media based on YouTube video content in the History of Music course on the history of ancient music, and (3) to find out increased student interest in learning after using this learning medium as an additional source of information for students of music education study programs to understand the history of ancient music. This research and development stage includes needs analysis, planning, development, and testing of use. The assessment and product feasibility test in this alpha test involved 2 (one) media experts. The product trial (beta test) involved 32 students as test subjects. The data in this research and development were collected through questionnaires and interest in learning tests. The data analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative technique, quantitative descriptive, and different test. The results of the research and development indicated that: (1) the feasibility of learning media based on YouTube video content based on the media expert's assessment reached a score of 5.64 with the criteria of "Very Good"; (2) product assessment by 2 (two) lecturers on the alpha test had an average score of 4.78 with the criteria of "Very Good"; (3) an increase in student interest in learning by 4.89. A significance value of 0.000 which indicates that there is a significant difference between the mean scores at the pretest and posttest. So in this case, the use of video-based learning media with YouTube content can increase students' interest in studying music history 1.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service is to develop the competence of junior high school art and culture teachers who are members of the MGMP in Jakarta regarding the making of school music arrangement materials in music learning that are easier to play during the covid-19 pandemic. The implementation method is carried out in the form of workshops and training. The implementation is carried out in several stages, namely initial activities in the form of training, core activities in the form of workshops, and FGDs, while the final activity is an independent mentoring activity in the preparation of school music arrangements in various forms that can be used in direct music learning in each participant's class. The data collection instrument was in the form of a participant satisfaction questionnaire with this workshop and training activity. The results of the evaluation conducted by the teacher stated that this activity had a positive impact on the development of professional competence
