Abstract

Abstract The implementation of the independent curriculum has been implemented in schools or madrasas in Indonesia in the 2022/2023 academic year. This research aims to describe the implementation of the independent curriculum in moral belief lessons at Madrasah Tsanawiyah 9 Sleman. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method. By using data collection techniques used by the author, including two things, namely interviews and observation. The results of this research are that there are stages in curriculum management including planning, implementation and evaluation activities. The implementation of the Independent Curriculum at Mts N 9 Sleman still has obstacles experienced by teachers. One of them is the lack of socialization and information regarding the independent curriculum. The independent curriculum has only been implemented for grade 7, while for grades 8 and 9 it is still the 2013 curriculum. There are no obstacles for students yet because it has only been running for 3 months, and there has not been a comprehensive evaluation regarding the curriculum. Based on weekly monitoring, students are happier and do not experience material pressure in implementing the independent curriculum.
