Abstract

Periode perkembangan anak usia dini sering disebut periode emas dikarenakan pada masa ini anak akan belajar lebih cepat. Optimalisasi perkembangan anak berperan penting dalam masa ini, salah satunya dengan memberikan stimulasi perkembangan tepat yang diberikan oleh orang tua dan lingkungan. Pada era digital seperti saat ini, teknologi tidak bisa dipisahkan pada aspek kehidupan terutama pada pengasuhan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak screen time berlebih terhadap perkembangan bahasa anak dini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literature, pada pencarian data di “Schooler, Proquest, Spring, dan DOAJ” dari tahun 2019 hingga 2023. Berdasarkan review yang dilakukan, sebagian besar jurnal penelitian ditemukan korelasi yang negatif antara paparan media elektronik (TV dan gawai) terhadap perkembangan bahasa anak usia dini. Screen time pada anak usia 0-6 tahun sebagian peneliti tidak dapat memprediksi perkembangan bahasa anak. Para peneliti menguji variable lain yang dapat memengaruhi hubungan screen time dengan perkembangan bahasa anak, pendampingan orang tua dan pendidikan orang tua. Perkembangan bahasa anak usia dini lebih signifikan dipengaruhi oleh interaksi langsung dengan orang tua ataupun keluarga.

Abstract

Literacy culture and digital literacy are crucial in shaping students’ early learning experiences. This study aims to describe literacy culture and digital literacy activities in the early grades while identifying the supporting and inhibiting factors in their implementation. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data validity ensured through triangulation. The research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah 1 Jember, East Java. The findings reveal that literacy culture is fostered through activities such as establishing reading corners, reading books before lessons begin, and providing a school library. Digital literacy is integrated through the use of an E-Library and various digital learning tools employed by teachers. Several supporting factors contribute to the success of these initiatives, including the school's role in providing infrastructure and the students' interest in reading. However, challenges remain, such as incomplete infrastructure, lack of parental support, and an unsupportive environment. These findings highlight the importance of institutional support and community involvement in enhancing literacy culture and digital literacy from an early age. Strengthening these aspects can significantly contribute to students' cognitive and social development in an increasingly digital era.

Abstract

Creating and maintaining a safe and comfortable learning environment has a very important role in preventing bullying in early childhood education. Teachers can implement child-friendly classroom management to create a safe and comfortable environment. This research uses a type of qualitative research with a library study method or known as a literature review such as journals and scientific articles. The result is that child-friendly classroom management has been proven to be more practical and effective in Early Childhood Education classes. Through child-friendly classes, children's acceleration and abilities can be improved because the child-friendly learning process has consistent values and is in line with children's needs. In addition, creating a friendly classroom can reduce aggressive behavior and increase prosocial behavior among students. A child-friendly education system has also been implemented in New Zealand by integrating contextual learning that is relevant, interesting and meaningful. The role of teachers in child-friendly classroom management is very important. Teachers as role models in the classroom can foster a friendly learning environment to overcome bullying behavior in children. However, good pedagogical competency support is also needed so that teachers can create a more positive learning atmosphere. The importance of creating child-friendly classes in early childhood education is to provide a classroom environment that is safe, comfortable, and supports children's optimal development. Classroom arrangements can be made by arranging classrooms that are safe, easily accessible, comfortable and clean, providing safe and interesting learning media, and ensuring positive communication between teachers and children.
