Abstract

This research aims to develop a predictive model using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) method to forecast the course completion of students in the Information Technology program. The issue at hand is the uncertainty in predicting student success based on historical data and specific attributes. This study focuses on the importance of understanding the factors that influence student success in the Database Management Systems course to provide accurate predictions and help improve student pass rates in this course. The objective of this research is to build a predictive model using the KNN algorithm and to implement this model using the PHP programming language. The study aims to offer valuable insights for educational institutions to enhance teaching and learning processes and to expand understanding of data mining concepts in specific case studies. The prediction aims to determine whether a student will pass or fail the Database Management Systems course based on predetermined training and testing data. By calculating the nearest distance between the training data and the test data. The results showed an accuracy rate of 90% for predicting course completion using k=5, with a dataset consisting of 40 training data points and 20 testing data points.

Abstract

In an agency, visits from other institutions and the general public frequently occur. To record these visits, an officer manages a guest book where visitors log their presence and state their purpose. However, the conventional method of using a guest book is susceptible to damage and leads to the accumulation of physical books. Additionally, summarizing visit data daily, weekly, monthly, or annually becomes challenging. Therefore, there is a need for digital modernization of visitor recording to align with the smart government concept implemented in government agencies. The proposed solution is to design a web-based guest book information system that will facilitate visitor data recording, visit monitoring, and visit summarization according to the needs of the leadership at the Regional Office of Law and Human Rights in Banda Aceh. To achieve optimal results, this study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method combined with the waterfall software development approach. The design process includes creating use case diagrams, conceptualizing database table relations, and utilizing the PHP programming language with the Bootstrap framework to ensure an easy-to-use interface. With this guest book information system, visitors will no longer need to fill out conventional guest books, and the Regional Office of Law and Human Rights in Banda Aceh will not require traditional guest book archiving. All visitor data, visit logs, and visit summaries will be stored in a system accessible to relevant parties as needed.

Abstract

Kabupaten Aceh Tengah merupakan salah satu kabupaten yang memiliki potensi pariwisata yang sangat besar unutk mendongkrak pendapatan asli daerah. Namun dinas pariwisata Aceh Tengah belum dapat mengoptimalkan wisata-wisata tersebut karena itu wisatawan merasa bimbang/bingung dalam menentukan wisata yang ingin dikunjungi. Oleh karena itu, untuk mengoptimalkan wisata-wisata tersebut penulis mengembangkan website pemetaan tempat-tempat wisata di Aceh Tengah dengan menggunkan sistem informasi geografis untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi letak lokasi tempat  wisata di Aceh Tengah. Sistem ini berbasis website dan menggunakan Leaflet javascript library untuk menentukan titik koordinat, sehingga memudahkan pencarian lokasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dimana pengembangan ini diawali dengan desain produk baru dan kemudian menguji produk tersebut dalam bentuk respon dari pengguna. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan waterfall yang memudahkan dalam tahapan pengembangan sebuah aplikasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan sebuah sistem informasi geografis pemetaan objek wisata Kabupaten Aceh Tengah berbasis website yang dapat memberikan kemudahan kepada wisatawan dari Aceh maupun dari luar Aceh yang ingin berkunjung ke destinasi wisata yang berada di kabupaten Aceh Tengah. Sistem ini juga dapat melakukan pemesanan sehingga memudahkan para wisatawan. Dan sistem ini juga memudahkan Dinas Pariwisata Kabupaten Aceh Tengah dalam mengelola data dan Informasi objek wisata. Kemampuan fungsionalitas sistem yang dirancang dapat berjalan dengan baik sesuai dengan yang direncanakan dengan menggunakan pengujian black box testing. Sehingga sistem informasi ini dapat digunakan dan berjalan dengan baik.
